Victor vs Jaguar

Hello, I was wondering if someone could tell me the advantages and disadvantages of using both the victor and jaguar as a speedcontroller. We are trying to decide which we need to use for all of our functions.

Search is your friend. This has been discussed many times before.

Ah, another display of the rumored Canadian manners and politeness that make Canadians so much nicer than we Yanks. So much for gracious professionalism.

Your post is in no way gracious or professional.

This is another thread with teams discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the two speed controllers.

I have searched and all the threads are from past years. They said that the Jaguars had problems with malfunctioning, however the Jaguars have been updated this year so I didn't think past threads would necessarily be the best thing to look at.

There are still problems. Jags are very sensitive to static, and we have had some DOA. We bought 4 new 'Black Jags' this year, one was DOA. Another 'Tan' Jag that we have been using with PWM will not recognize CAN.

So while not trouble free, the Jags add features when you connect limit switches & encoders to the Jag.

So we decided on a mix. Jags on the drivetrain, Vics on other motors.
