programming spikes

hey everybody,

here's my problem; I want to program a spike to turn on when I press a button on the joystick, I've looked through all the tutorials but can't find anything on how to control spikes

any one have any ideas?

also, how do I program the joystick buttons?
I know this seems like really basic stuff but this is my first year programing and I have NO IDEA what I'm doing, so very basic instructions would be appreciated

Thanks

Re: programming spikes

What language are you using? Spikes are Relays, that may help get you in the right direction. I know the Labview code refers to them as relays, not Spikes.

I think there is an example you can get to from the LabVIEW Getting Started page in the lower right corner ("more...").

Here is a relay example for when you have a motor or double solenoid driven by a Spike. This does forward and reverse, but you can change "reverse" to "off" if you like.

Here is how you get buttons out of a joystick.
