No point in emailing Autodesk... I think they provide the software. Not sure they have anything to do with animation; at least not at regionals.

Robotics ends in about an hour; hope it submits by then.

Alrighty; it's now saying we're not allowed to submit.

Not sure what to do except wait for an email from FIRST, I hope.

Autodesk controls the submission process though. Even if it doesnt help its worth a shot haha. ill do anything now to get this to work...

We lost the page we were submitting on; now it won't let us submit. How about you, MrPowers?

I just hit the back button whenever it says "this webpage is unavailable" but i doubt that even if it did go through it would be accepted because it would have gone through after deadline.. still no reply from FIRST. If you get anything keep us posted :)

I had been doing that. But now we lost the page; I'll let you know. I probably will go home... nothing else I can do right now. Hopefully they're going to email me back. I will keep you updated.

Anyone else having the problem of it not submitting?

It died on me. This has been so frustrating to get this submission squared away for my Animatos. Hopefully, I will contact my FIRST representative and get to the bottom of this.

Again, same issues as before. Now that we're locked out there is very little we can do, but I'm hopeful that FIRST will extend or fix the upload system because they did push the deadline back 2 days because of another Chief Delphi thread already. I'm sure they'll give us some sort of assistance. Also, has anyone else noticed the general bad design of the firstbase website? It's been frustrating me all season.

Yea i recall server problems last year but it wasnt this bad where it didnt get uploaded. I agree, the website was so strange this year. If anyone from FIRST ever reads this I AM BEGGING YOU please extend the deadline. I started my upload at 4:50 PST (before deadline) and have been trying to submit ever since (it is now 7:32 PST).

Good luck to everyone else in your efforts to submit and good luck to all the teams that got it submitted :)

Yep, my team started trying to upload at around 2:50 PST. We essentially tried OVER and OVER for 3 hours to get it in, and after it hit 100% uploaded the site would give a "can not be displayed" error and then a refresh put us back to the login screen. We may have it uploaded already, but we haven't recieved any confirmation.

I am having the EXACT same problem. It says "uploading (100%)" then "waiting for students.autodesk.com" then "this page is unavailable". I can hit back and re-submit but i get the same problem. I am pretty scared that my sub-team did all of that work for nothing. I guess theres nothing left to do now except pray, send some emails, and go eat dinner :/

I left. There wasn't much I could do. I'll let you know if and when I get an email though.

I know this is worth nothing right now, but for next year, anticipate the server strain and upload a day or two early. Every year the server gets hammered, and people have problems. I know there's never enough time to perfect everything in your animation, but give yourself a deadline ahead of the real one. You can always upload a better version the next day if you have time.

We were planning on doing this on Saturday but did it Sunday. Combustion was adding one white frame to the end of our animation - even though everything was black. Drove us crazy! We finally fixed in Quicktime Pro. Anyway, if we ran into that problem in the last hour before the deadline, we would have been hosed.

Re: Autodesk upload issues?

Just so everyone knows, Autodesk runs the animation/inventor competitions, and they are in charge of both the submission and judging processes. FIRST is not directly involved with either part of the process, other than in an oversight/coordination role. So any communications should be directed toward Autodesk. Your FIRST regional director may be able to provide you with appropriate points of contact, or may be able to forward your notes on to the right person. But FIRST will be the pass-through for the communications, and not the ones that make any decisions about submissions.

See, we were nearly ready to submit Sunday (after MANY program crashes) and then we realized we needed .mov... so we spent two days trying to convince 3ds max to render properly in .mov. And so we finally fixed it Wednesday at about 4:30 PST (6:30 CST) and we tried to submit it.
