What fuels your team
After completing week 5 and looking at my teams impressive pyramid of Mountain Dew cans. I was wondering what other teams drink to keep them running during those late nights.:D

Re: What fuels your team
Mountain Dew, of course.
There is a vending machine in the teacher's lounge across the hallway. Two thirds of the time we have at least three people with a bottle from the machine in our room, the last third we've bought out the machine and are waiting for a restock. (Beyond that, though... This year Brandon's mom has coordinated the Team Mom's so that a different person is making us dinner everynight, and dropping it off at the school around five or so. The food is GOOD, and you can not imagine how thankful I am these women can cook for an army.) |

Re: What fuels your team
We have this giant bag of chips that we bought to be "efficient" and not have to buy more chips every weekend. The problem is, no one wants to eat the chips without salsa, and we only buy salsa in weekend-sized containers, thus creating a bottleneck in the usability of the chips.

Re: What fuels your team
Believe it or not, we don't exist on vegemite. Our team is fueled by a healthy mix of Cadbury chocolate, and jelly babies or similar things.

Re: What fuels your team
My Team works in a school, so there are few "late nights", but we do work often.
For the few times we meet at a parent's office to work, we are generally powered by Papa Johns and Coke. On the those streaks of 5 straight days of meetings, we are powered by various goodies that our teacher mentor provides. At the beginning of the season, she stocks up on sweets and drinks from Costco. Does the soul good. |
Re: What fuels your team
2791 has the weirdest phenomena I've ever seen. All of the kids drink coffee and the adults drink Monster. It seems backward.

Re: What fuels your team
we're getting by on a combination of Dew and those energy shot things. not sure what they're called, but I know I'm not touching those. I get really jittery on lots of caffeine, and that's asking for burnt fingers or bad pictures. or both.

Re: What fuels your team
On Saturdays, a mom brings in a ton of Throwback Pepsi and Dew. We also eat peanut butter filled pretzels! :D

Re: What fuels your team
'Route 44 Diet Coke with added Watermelon and Orange flavorings.'
How does that sound as a 'victory' drink for building a robot? One of our mentors can almost 'taste victory' and that is the taste. :) Diet Coke is a staple for a couple of our mentors. The team is fed very well by our parents group who coordinates the meal sign-up/calendar. On the rare occasion that no one signs up, the team members are told in advance to bring their own snacks for that day. The drink of choice is often water. If one is not careful with fueling with so much sugar/caffeine, it can become a nuisance/hindrance more than a help. Jane |
