176 is now considering both Crazy Legs and Dr. Claw for our name this year. Dr. Claw was suggested because our hanging mechanism resembles a claw, and Crazy Legs was suggested because we have articulating wheels, so when we pick up our robot, the wheel mechanisms tend to swing out and hit our knees as we carry it.

we came up with a name right before ship, we decided to name our robot after the local college sports arena since its shape reminds us of it, our robot is named moby.

2003 - Simbot Sally
2004 - Simbot Simon
2005 - Simbot Kevin - Named after Simbot student Kevin Hines who passed away prior to the 2005 season.
2006 - Simbot Beckham - The 2006 robot had the ability to bend its shots in a similar fashion to English Midfield David Beckham, hence Simbot Beckham.
2007 - Simbot Prime - Named after the Transformer Optimus Prime, for the robot's ability to transform into a ramp at the end of the match.
2008 - Simbot SS - Named after the line of vehicles produced by the GM High Performance division.
2009 - Simbot Panthro - Named after the robot that was played by Simbot SS on the TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation.
2010 - Simbot Quatchi - Named after one of the 2010 Olympic Mascots

The mother of someone on our team looked at the robot and said "He looks like an Oliver." So, all day yesterday, more than half of us were calling him "Oliver D-Fence". I don't think it's official.

Team 2583's robot is called Grond (from Lord of the Rings), since it kinda looks like it in the front...at least when we built the prototype, and we kinda got used to the name.

we named our robot Weeble after the Weeble-Wobble toy. the slogan of the toy is "weebles wobble but they don't fall down!", which is the function of our robot this year. we've designed the robot to self-right itself by keeping a low center of gravity and utilizing the bumpers so that our robot will not fall down if we lose balance driving over a hump, it will simply wobble its self right again.
Weeble may wobble but he won't fall down! :D

I love how weeble overrided EVERY other option we had. I still hope our theme can be low rider. XD
