Is the Signal light Supposed to Blink or Be steady?

Ok..we've wired up the signal light and it works-blinks! We're living LARGE huh?;) Is the light supposed to blink in the competition or stay steady? I figure that's the reason there's a crossover + wire on the diagram. I really don't want to change what is working at this late date. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

It should do the same thing as the small LED next to where you plug the signal light into on the digital sidecar. The extra wire is required by <R59C>.

It's a lot easier to make changes now then after inspection at competition.

Before network communication is established, the RSL should blink quickly.

When the robot is disabled, the RSL should blink slowly.

When the robot is enabled, the RSL should be on with a brief flicker off every second and a half.

(I think the RSL is on solid during autonomous mode.)

If your big amber light isn't doing exactly the same thing as the little green one on the Digital Sidecar, you probably don't have the connection between its outside pins installed properly.

Alan:
I went back and wired it correctly as per your post! Works like a champion! This forum rocks!:D
Thanks!

If you're ever looking for what the exact blink codes are for the RSL they are on the last page of chapter 1 of the control system manual http://usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/....aspx?id=10934

Quote:

Solid ON = Autonomous Enabled

Solid ON, but blinks OFF every 1.5s = Teleoperated Enabled

Slow Blink (900ms on/ 900ms off) = System Disabled; caused by system watchdog, user watchdog or Driver's Station set to disabled

Fast-Slow Blink (200ms on/900ms off) = Low Battery (<12V) or no user code AND system disabled either by system watchdog, user watchdog, or Driver;s station set to disabled

Fast Blink (200ms on/200ms off) = System error: No driver's station communication, bad cRIO Image, bad team ID, extensive comm. error
