ELEVATED ROBOT

Hello,
Is there any rule regarding how high above the floor the robot must be hanging on the alliance tower?
because our robot is in line at an angle on the alliance tower;
It back is about half meter above the floor and it front is about 15 centimeters above the floor.
My question: Is it enough high to get points?

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

your robot must be above the plane of the top of the platform, so above 20 inches and you get the bonus

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

thank very much,
but what part of the robot must be in that height?

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

I think that it is the entire robot that must be over the plane

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

<G04> Scoring - ALLIANCE scores are determined by a combination of the number of BALLS SCORED in the ALLIANCE GOALS during the MATCH and the number or ROBOTS in the following states at the conclusion of the MATCH, where:
a. Each SCORED BALL is worth 1 point, and
b. Each ELEVATED ROBOT is awarded 2 points, or each SUSPENDED ROBOT is awarded 3 points.

ELEVATED: A ROBOT that is completely above the plane of the PLATFORM and in contact with the TOWER shall be considered ELEVATED.

SUSPENDED: A ROBOT only in contact with an ELEVATED ROBOT and/or a SUSPENDED ROBOT shall be considered SUSPENDED.

There you go.

Above the platform is the rule. The platform is listed as 20" above the floor. There may be some tolerance issues of up to about 1/4".

Plan for 21", that should cover all cases.

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

thank you, our alliance tower is 24 (the man who built it for us made a few mistakes)and it cant elevate more the 15 centimeters in the dront and half a meter in the back, it stuck at the tunnel, so I guess it should work with legal tower.

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

15cm is less than 6 inches. If that is the highest the front of your robot gets when trying to elevate it will not be above the platform and will not score points.

As EricH said above, design your robot to lift all parts above 21" or ~53cm to 54cm

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

I think when my toewr will be legal the robot will lif him self more then the last time becase the height is so different.

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

If the robot hangs and for some reason cant winch itself up all the way and the back wheels are above the plane of the platform and the front wheels are ON the platform, does this count as an elevated robot (2pts)?

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

As long as absolutely no part of your ROBOT is below the plane of the PLATFORM you are ELEVATED.

Re: ELEVATED ROBOT

yeah... if anyone watched the suffield shakedown you have to be above the platform... there were a few robots that hung, but the bonus didn't take affect because they weren't above the tower platform
