2010 Regional Webcasts
It's that time of year again. Fill in the blanks if you know who is webcasting the event. NASA has yet to publish their 2010 regional webcasts page.
Week 1 Washington, DC - NASA again? Week 4 Buckeye - Team 48 - link TBD |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Week 3 - Silicon Valley - NASA
Week 5 (Mid-Week) - Sacramento - NASA |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
I remember part of the Connect a Million Minds Project was to broadcast some of these events. It might be useful to call up your local TWC Customer Service Center and see if they will indeed be broadcasting any events that we may not be aware of.

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
As a FIRST community over the next few years, I'd love to see us get EVERY FRC event (at least the regular season) webcast, and posted on TBA.
For the last few years Discovery Channel has webcast GTR (but only to Canadian IPs), but nobody recorded the stream, including Discovery themselves, so it never made it to TBA. |

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Has anyone heard if NJ is being webcasted this year? I'd like to send the link out to some of my co-workers and family again...
Also, does anyone know if Soap Gameday is going to be up again this year? |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Connecticut will be webcast by Team 230. You can access the link (when the time comes) through our website:

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
So is it traditional for a team to take up the "webcasting mantel" for their home regional?
I was just wondering on behalf of a second year team (Team 3006) going to a first year regional (Utah Regional). |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts

If you can't webcast, see if you can get some form of recording device to the event and record matches that way, then get them to The Blue Alliance. |

I won't be at Waterloo until possibly Saturday, so I likely won't set one up. For people interested in setting up a webcast look at these old threads about it: from 2008 and 2009 |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
I hope all those webcasts that NASA has listed on their site (Every Single Week 1 event minus Districts and San Diego) actually end up being webcasted. That would truly be an accomplishment for the FIRST community as a whole.

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Week 2 - WPI Regional will be webcast by WPI. Link will be posted on http://www.wpi.edu/news/firstregional when it is available (hopefully by Wednesday evening).
I'm sure someone will gladly repost the direct link on CD when it's available. |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Good Evening.
The Finger Lakes Regional @ RIT Will be webcasted (Friday and Saturday 9am-5pm) at http://www.rit.edu/first/webcast/ Enjoy the show! |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Anybody know if http://gameday.mttkllr.com (soap108 GameDay) is going to be live again this year? That was great for glomming all the webcasts together in one place in the past.

edit:Nvm its running fine =] |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
No idea. I'm watching from Wisconsin. The feed is being done by Bellarmine (sp?) Prep.
Last year it was up starting on Friday. Anyone watching Kansas know why Blue got -2? |

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Is it just me or does it look like KC is forcing teams in the far zone to start touching the wall and not allowing them to be touching the goal ramp instead?
|
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
My stream is starting to get really choppy, it completely stopped a few times too.

Seems to be running ok for me now. Did they take a lunch break or something?
|
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Just lost feed again as well. Seems they were changing video since I was able to connect back in for a moment only to see the sponsor slides.
|
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
I think someone was messing with the bit rate, I saw it jump as high as 4k, and even 2k, now it's back down to a reasonable 200 something. As I was typing this they upped it again, to 755kb/s, but it is stable here now. I think they are still trying to get everything set up and finalized.

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
anyone know the link to DC?

In absence of gameday I have created a poor replacement. Download the attached file and change the extension to .html. Run it in firefox (or chrome, IE, safari, etc.). It has all webcasted regionals in order of starting time.
If anyone wants to clean it up or improve upon it, please do and post a new file. |

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
A cool thing I found last night for those of you with dual-screen systems:
http://lifehacker.com/5419028/keep-f...-dual-monitors If you are watching a Flash feed (Ustream, etc.), this allows you to put the fullscreen flash mode on one screen, and keep working on the other screen without interrupting full-screen mode. This is tested and working right now, as I watch the Duluth regional on Ustream. |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
is Peachtree down for anyone else?
|
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Will anyone be broadcasting the Utah Regional??
|
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
So did anyone else just see 217 score 9 points single-handedly? How about that?
Everything but Michigan's working for me so far. |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Am I the only one that thinks the quality on the Rochester feed leaves something to be desired?
|
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Looks like the DC Regional is on NASA TV.
Channel 77 here on Comcast - Minneapolis. |

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
For KC, Windows Media Player simply refuses to open .asf files. The MORE.net guy was in the pit area, I might ask him about it tomorrow.
Anyone know where I might get a codec (or another media player) for .asf files? A quick search didn't turn up much. This problem happened to me last year, too. EDIT: VLC Media Player opens them just fine (even has a Firefox add-in!), but only the streamed (which is over now) feed works, not the stored qualification matches. |

I also had it running on Windows Media Player.
On a quick side note. Does anyone have a rough guess as to how long until TBA gets videos online? |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts

If the video is being parsed in real-time during archiving, it could be uploaded and posted within a day or two. Most likely it will take longer, usually at least a few days to a week. |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
I couldn't see if it was mentioned, but does anybody know about the NYC regional?
|
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Any word on webcasts today? I've hit the links listed on NASAs site, but have been unable to get Flordia or WPI up and running despite their respective sites saying they should be broadcasting.

Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Hi everyone-
Having trouble posting the link via our CMS, so here it is: mms://media.wpi.edu/live We are live now, practice matches are running! |

Anyone Watching Pittsburgh? The feed looks really good right now...
Btw, anyone know anything about 3138 at Pittsburgh? They sure don't look like a rookie. (I've also got Florida, Ann Arbor and Cass Tech Open.... But WPI's Not working?) @ 9:05, Florida's Opening Ceremonies are up, Cass Tech is/was up, and Pittsburgh Practices are up... |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts
Anybody have match schedules and such for PIT?
I'm itching to see 1114's offering this year. |
Re: 2010 Regional Webcasts

You should be itching, they scored 18 points by themselves (20 with lift bonus), or at least that is what the webcast said. |
