Cheer. Cheer, dance, laugh, have fun, repeat. I didn't realize how spirited I actually can be until I was sitting in the stands alone at MSC (don't worry, it wasn't long before I was kidnapped by a few former mentors), where I couldn't really cheer and root for the teams that I support. A great example of "you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone," really. Cheer as a team, it's a lot more fun! Cheering BETWEEN teams is also a GREAT way to show spirit, and to infect others with the spirit flu as well. Dancing is great for getting yourself excited, and it's also a really good way to burn off all of the energy from the 32oz of Mountain Dew you had at lunch. As long as you're having fun, you're being spirited.

But as it has been said: please remember to be respectful of others!

They sound like they are seriously funny.

(sorry, I couldn't resist...)

He was uncanny at mascoting! He can go from super energized falcon mascot to super serious federal agent :) Who would think a mentor is that spirited :D

Team 1189's spirit was truly inspiring! I can't count the sheer amount of FEDS students that wanted to dance and be spirited after seeing your team in action!

Kara knows what she is talking about :)

Hey, I'm the loudest person on my team, and I've been head of scouting for two years now!

Actually, at SVR I think I was the loudest person in the stadium... SVR was definitely not as spirit-y as it has been in past years. We did our best to fix that, but hopefully Atlanta will be better.

I don't know if I can say I'm THE loudest, but I think I'm one of the loudest and peppiest people on our team, and I've also been head of scouting for 2 years!

Us scouters just bring spirt like no one else can!

Not to jump on the bandwagon late... But I'm the head scouted and am one of the loudest :) Even if I do mess up some cheers...

I have to agree with the cheering your teams (progressively getting louder through the competition)

unfortunately that's all that Epsilon Delta has got going for them, it's very hard to think up cheers that fits to a team that really has no solid theme. though we have thought of a few:

the loudest of the group usually myself an 2 others yell out "EPSILON" while the rest of the team shouts out "DELTA"

another one is more of an Inside joke about a mentor, who sent out an email saying "Who Team 116" by accident, within minutes one of the "class clown" team member replied "WE TEAM 116!" so now during some matches 1 guy(or girl) "Who Team 116?" and we all respond "WE TEAM 116!"
------
in past years we've donned hats and foam fingers, with team 116, those are now long gone, lost in our shop.

I love the outrageous get ups some people wear, in fact I'll sometimes "fix myself" to stand out against the rest of my team.

Look out for Pokemon buttons this year :)

POKEMON BUTTONS!!!! Holy Pikachu, I'm already excited! Everyone on my team loves pokemon, and literally go crazy over pokemon buttons. I NEED to get one! :D

Oh, and I would suggest you enter it into the Best Button Award Contest. :)

Haha! I just saw THAT!

I didn't make too many unfortunately (Printer ink is so darn expensive)

I'm not sure as to how many were made (in the process) but:

Original Starters:
Bulbasaur
Squirtle
Charmander

and the very First #116 pokemon: Horsea!

On the topic of scouts being the loudest, our head scout last year was one of the loudest people we've ever had on our team. His loud, deep voice was GREAT for starting cheers.

Out of curiosity, wasn't there a team at MSC who had Pikachu buttons?

Would that be Andy who you are talking about?

And Team 1718's Pi-kachu button was a pokemon button :)

At Regionals we had two of our young ladies wearing cheer uniforms, students using Cheer Megaphones, and there was enough space for a student to wave our School Flag (used for cheer competition so it's HUGE). Will any of these be feasible at World Championships?

Most of our team will be rocking their Poke-walkers!
We won't have Poke' mon buttons but we do have "Team 3168 is over 9000" buttons (in limited supply)

I think everything expect for the flag would be possible. The only issue is that you do not have the floor space in the stands in the Georiga dome for things that require a flat space (the stands continue to a railing that leads to a drop off).

If you have the materials, make giant numbers instead of the flag for the stands. Have the field announcer wave the flag before your matches, and keep giant numbers in the stands for the students.

Re: How To Really Show Your Spirit At Championships

We have other posters (including number cut outs) and a cardboard cut out of our principal and the school spirit stick and head dress.
I just wanted to ask about the questionables :)

Thanks!
