2073's currently nameless robot gallery

Now that things have calmed down a bit, I thought I would post a few images of our robot for 2010. You can also see a lot mor pictures, including some from the Fembot's practice day, on my web site.

The robot looks good, but I have a few questions.

Where did you get the light strips?

What is the purpose for the unpowered rear wheel?

I don't believe the Dewalt motor you're using is legal. Have you checked that?

Ah, good questions.

The LED light strips were purchased at Ikea, of all places. We've used this same set for two years.

The Dewalt is actually a FP motor in Dewalt drill housing driving a Dewalt transmission. Search for the "Nothing but Dewalts" white paper for details.

The fifth wheel is our little bit of magic. We use it to improve our align-ability and maneuverability. We can pivot in a circle around the ball while keeping it in contact with the robot.
