Need Help - Pneumatic Kicker

So, this is how it is: Our kicker is operated by using two solenoid switches. The first solenoid operates a pneumatic arm which pulls the kick into position. The kicker is then held into position with a latch system. The first pneumatic arm has no pressure on it after it is armed into the latch. Pressure from a series of rubber bands tries to pull the kicker in a downward position. The second solenoid switch is used to operate the second pneumatic arm. This second arm unloads the latch, allowing the kicker to move forward.

I am viewing this as two separate systems. One system is programmed to pull the kicker into position. The second system is used to release the latch.

We have already written the program for the kicker, but it doesn’t seem to be working. We are trying to wire it using two spike relays, but this doesn’t seem to be working. We are thinking about rewiring this to the newer bumper system.

Any help would be much appreciated.

First off, there are many threads on this already. Searching them should reveal almost everything you need.

That said, here is an example.

This post even provides an example vi already built that may meet your needs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you wire solenoids directly into the solenoid breakout? In the past I know we used spikes, but I don't think that is necessary anymore (we're not using pneumatics this year, so I'm not sure off the top of my head).

Both the Solenoid breakout and Spike relays are legal options to power solenoids this year.
