Q&A 6v0
We all know the deal about 6v0 matches, but we have heard no word about it from FIRST, and I doubt that we will unless we come to them. Due to the fact that I dont have the Q&A account for my team, and we don't meet for another two days, someone who does should ask the Q&A what their intent for the coopertition bonus was, and if they really wanted a 6v0 game. It will also stop all this silly speculating and namecalling on these forums.

Re: Q&A 6v0
And they should specifically ask if '3v0', coopertition-point denying "strategies" were intended, too.

Re: Q&A 6v0
I don't think you need to ask the GDC if they foresaw the possibility of a 6v0 match.
There are two possibile answers to the question. "Yes, we foresaw this as part of the game." or, "No. We took a large group of brilliant people, many with years and years of FRC experience, and introduced a completely new ranking system without thinking of the possible outcomes, opportunities and team stragegies that might result." They may also want to point out that this outcome had never occurred to Dean Kamen, either, in the years in which he was pursing a patent on this particular ranking mechanism. I suspect the GDC is enjoying watching teams wrap their heads around this ranking algorithm.... and is probably a bit surprised that it has taken teams so long to clue in to the options this ranking system presents to them. Re: Q&A 6v0
In the DC regional this last weekend, the MC advised the teams to "try scoring on your opponents' goal sometimes".
It seems pretty clear that that the game design committee intended 6V0 to be a part of the game play strategy. |
Re: Q&A 6v0
Interesting. The MC from FLR is an outspoken hater of the 6v0 scoring. Look for him, Steve W. on this forums...
