Seeding Points vs State Rankings

Question; Is Michigan using the regular FIRST seeding points to rank teams during the districts for the finals and then using another system to Rank teams for the Championship? This spells trouble. It means you have to choose whats more important win loss record or seeding points. Seems like a troublesome algorithm for teams to endure.

Update 3 from FiM

Quote:

5.1 Use of Points System to Rank Teams Teams will accumulate points at their first two district events and at the State Championship. Below is a schedule of points teams will earn:

Win-Loss Record in Qualifying Rounds
Win = 2
Tie = 1

Final Alliance Captains After Picking

#1 Alliance Captain = 16
#2 Alliance Captain = 15
#3 down to #8 Alliance Captain = 14 down to 9

Draft Order by Acceptance
#1 Draft Pick (Accepted) = 16
#2 Draft Pick (Accepted) = 15
#3 down to #16 Draft Pick = 14 down to 1

Elimination Round Performance
Winning Alliance Teams = 30
Finalist Alliance Teams = 20
Semi Finalist Alliance Teams = 10
Rank = 0

It is no trouble at all. We picked win loss to qualify for State Championship. We don't care about seeding points. If you can play the game well and fight hard to win even when you are behind, other teams will notice and pick you to play in the elimination round.

Seeding points is only important for the top 8-12 teams to become alliance captains. If you are not an alliance captain, high seeding scores will not mean anything at all. We did not pick based on ranking that use seeding points. Some teams used to do that in past years but I don't think too many teams will do that this year with this weird system.
