The Year with no Archived Video
http://www.firstwiki.net/index.php/2010_Archiving
Three events currently have folks recording them. I have only heard from a single group about Week 1 Regional recorded video. At this rate, Breakaway will be the least-recorded FIRST game ever. :ahh: |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I will gladly volunteer to parse recorded video again this year, especially Week 2 events as I am on Spring Break, but someone has to record them first!
Also, 2175 is working on tracking down a second capture device to record 10k Lakes as well so that should be 4 events. |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
So I take it this means there is no GSR footage?

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I know of MOREnet's archive(Kansas City Regional): http://www.more.net/content/first-robotics
as well as a archive of the Oregon Regional: http://bpsepaa.com/video_2/main.php?...ected&event=15 |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Any NJ Regional videos?
I *might* be able to stream/record the NYC Regional, although I don't think I have the proper equipment... |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Give me raw video and I can edit/encode it.

I've contacted MOREnet about their Kansas City video. Thanks all! |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Due to "technical difficulties" aka they forgot the av splitter multiplier amplifier to allow connection to the video feed I did not get to record the traverse city district competition. The guy running the video equipment promises it will be on ftp location this week.

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Willing to parse anything people can get me files of. I'm on spring break with nothing to do :)
I can get on Kansas City and have it all parsed if they say "yes". |

It's not every match but it's something at least........ I haven't really figured out what I am doing this year yet but then again in news I think we figure everything out in five minutes to deadline and just do it :) |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I'll be recording Pittsburg and GTR this year, I may be able to record Saturday of Waterloo also. Sorry I haven't been able to push for more recordings like previous years, helping to run a team while in 3rd year of my Mechanical Engineering degree can keep one busy... Hopefully someone can step up and help organize the recording/parsing efforts.

I'm assuming with the pinnacle device you take in composite video and mic level audio and connect a 1TB hard drive and it just records it all as one file if you leave it running all day? I've never really played with that stuff so I don't know, I'm also assuming AC power is needed? |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I will once again be recording the Wisconsin Regional this year. I may need help with the parsing...silly job gets in the way of these important things!

However I am not sure they are allowed to release it as the footage is owned by the University and the are in the process of selling it to the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation). I'll talk to them about trying to release it. Thanks, timytamy |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Anyone have any footage of FLR? I'd love to at least see the finals.

NJ was recorded. Havent had time to go through it yet but it is here

Yes, I, too, would absolutely love some footage of NJ. It holds just a small amount of sentimental value to me ;). Please send me a PM when info is parsed.

You have to be careful, though, in leaving it unattended (see that happened to us last year) as there's a limit on how big (or long, or something else, I don't know) the file can be. |

Did you record the alliance selection as well? I'd be interested in seeing it. |

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
If you want specifics, I'll do day 3 :D
My team wants to see the vids up on TBA really bad. |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I will be able to record everyday at Waterloo with my pinnacle video transfer and a 500GB hard drive. Also the PVT should only record up to 4GB on a FAT32 disk or up to 1GB on a FAT16 disk, once these limits are reached the device should create a new file and it will keep recording
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video

If anyone feels like recording six hours of anything so we can be sure... After discovering this issue last year, what I did was pause during lunch break, which gave us plenty of time (be sure to wait 'till alliance selections on Saturday!). |

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I have a mentor doing it while he is supposed to be at work lol. He is working on it cause he is the one who did it. I think he will have it done soon and if it is not done by the end of the week I will start bugging him about it :)
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
We have KC recorded and are downloading it to the PC now to parse. Let me know if you need it sent or if you can get it from www.more.net. We may take a week or longer to get it up though.
We will also be recording the STL regional next weekend. We can parse and post it as well. |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
If you recorded awards that would be appreciated, too. Thanks!
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
anyone have any video of the nj regoinal? our robot did a successful flip, and we wanted video of that match, but it is nowhere to be found :(
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I am pretty sure we have the rewards recorded too not sure though I will ask and give you an abolute answer as soon as possible
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Does anyone know if CodeRed got the video from both the Michigan districts??the Kettering video would be awesome to have..
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I recorded raw video (no compression applied) for most of the D.C. regionals, but probably won't have time to chop it up for several weeks (in case anyone's interested). It's in 2 gig pieces (10 minutes each, I forgot to switch from FAT32 to something better), and totals something like 150GB - if anyone's interested in a compressed version, I could send it to them.
I plan to do the same thing at N.C. |

Finals Match 2 Finals Match 3 I'd like to thank the people who recorded the New Jersey Regional, it was 816's first adventure to the Finals and the Video would be awesome to have. Not to mention someone better get Mr. Gregory some Video of his WFFA win. ;) |

not sure what match it is, but it was taken by my parents... |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I realize that what's transmitted in the webcasts is hardly the raw output that is most desirable, but if there were a way to easily record footage off the webcasts I think the number of regionals being archived would greatly increase. As I'm unable to physically attend any regionals this year, I can't help record in the traditional manner. But if recording off the webcasts is a viable option, then I'd volunteer to help record and parse.

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Code Red did not record anything they streamed. At traverse city the AV crew wouldn't allow anyone else to hook in and record the matches. The AV guy was "afraid to lose signal quality" even though it was only going to 2 separate outputs, to code red's streaming box and the main projector. He recorded on his device which had all the inputs and outputs run through it, I dont know what it was but looks kinda cool.

I might pick one up this weekend to experiment with, I guess is only has composite input though and no firewire? mark |

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I'm responsible for running video production at the WPI regional. I'm logging the program output to raw DV, so the footage for the entire event will likely total ~350 GB. I don't have the time to cut it up, and at that size, it's impractical to upload to an FTP server, but I'd gladly pass off a copy to someone willing to make the trek to Worcester. Just shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Is there any word of NJ footage yet? And anything about the awards?
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
So there was no video feed at Pittsburgh, likely due to it being a 2-day budget regional so I wasn't able to record it. I am trying to get the raw UStream feed from the folks who ran the webcast.

Here's a better quality version of NJ Final Match 2, taken from a different angle:

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
do any of you smart people know where florida video can be found? even just raw footage would be great :D
|
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I have ~4 hours recorded of the Florida webcast (Friday). PM me if you want it (and have a place where I can upload it). Currently I do not have time to cut it up myself. I also have a screen recording of most of Saturday of Pittsburgh (no audio though).

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I just got back from the first day at Waterloo. When i asked if i could record the video feed i was told that they had not allotted for that, i guess it was cheaper that way but i am disappointed that i wont have any video recorded.

My advice then to those filming from the stands is use a tripod no matter what and if you have a directional mic on some kind of pivoting mount so that it stays pointed at the speakers hanging from the ceiling and that should help a bit with the audio. I miss the audio feed, I always plugged into it and set it to channel two in my camera/headset and had it up loud just so I could enjoy the music while I was there for the day extra loud. |

I think these have been all- or mostly-posted on TBA, but re-sampled at a lower resolution. |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Wisconsin Regional is up on TBA now.
Good timing, I got to show my little cousin our quarterfinals matches. :) |
Re: The Year with no Archived Video
Can anyone help?
A student on 1676 has raw match footage from Virginia on disk, but just won't ever find the time to parse it. There are 3 or 4 matches missing (when the tapes ran out) but it's mostly complete. Taken from a good spot in the stands, only rarely is the field obscured by an errant spectator. Does anyone have somewhere we can upload the raw video, thus allowing someone to parse it? As expected, it is several tens of GB. Upload bandwidth is not a problem. |

Re: The Year with no Archived Video
I know team 2337 will be working to supply TBA with our matches (if not all of the matches, were working on it) on our field from Nationals. We also supplied all but 3 of our matches from the State competition.

Please tell me you have Qualification 95 on tape. That would be awesome! An unfortunate repercussion of being the trident operator is that you have a wall of people between you and the field and can't really see when your robot does something awesome like driving up Kilroy's ramp. |
