We'd like to go for the first time this year. Anyone have info on it, or how to register?

Hey Teams Attending,

Are you going to be coaching your rookie drivers at the event or are the vets taking part in this one? I know for a fact that we would like to try and get some rookies out there but we also want to master Breakaway! Let me know!

I can't answer your question at this time, your best chance is to go ahead and apply anyway! Volunteer Registration.

Generally it is a mix of both experienced and unexperienced drivers. I can't speak for any team in particular, but I would estimate at least 25% (probably higher) of teams would use a different driver/co-pilot from what they did in actual competition. Most teams are focused on practicing, mentoring, and having a good time more so than treating it like a regional.

We always use the off-season to give all interested drivers a chance to run in a match. We will then use our experienced drivers in the play-offs. Hard to believe but this year our regular season driver was a rookie 10th grader. So at Monty Madness we will be giving our Seniors a chance to drive our robot. :D
