Re: 2010 Monty Madness

We were wondering if teams every had problems not getting their robot back from the championship in time for the event. Our teacher is worried we'll sign up and then not be able to attend. Has this ever happened to any team and is there any risk of this happening to us?

I'm really hoping we can attend again and see some old faces from Jersey.

Hey Teams Attending,

Are you going to be coaching your rookie drivers at the event or are the vets taking part in this one? I know for a fact that we would like to try and get some rookies out there but we also want to master Breakaway! Let me know!

Were using our regular drive team, 2 jrs and a sr coach.

Team 25 has never had a problem with this. We always have our robot back in time to compete at PARC, which for the past couple of years has been held the weekend before Monty Madness.

I'll be attending. :)

We wont be able to do PARC because we have our annual team dinner on that day.

I am pushing the teacher on our team to sign up for Monty and we will probably send in our check in the next two days. For Monty it comes down to if we will be able to sign up in time.

I am also pushing for our team to go to Ramp Riot and it looks very good for us to attend that.

We would be honored to have you at Ramp Riot! The date this year will be Saturday, November 13th. I will be putting full details on Delphi soon.

See you at Monty!!!

To my knowledge (I'm not the best authority on this), I have not known of any robots that have not made it back in time for the event. 1403's robot was down in Atlanta too, so you aren't the only one in that boat.

Looks like the team list is now full and we won't be able to attend. What are the chances of getting in off of the waitlist?

I emailed the monty madness registration people asking what our chances were and they said:

It's very hard to say if we'll be using teams on the waitlist. We changed the way we register teams beginning last year in that we now require
registration payment before considering a team registered. This means every
team listed as a participant has paid their registration fee, which has cut
down dramatically on having teams that are just trying to hold a spot and
deciding whether to actually come at a later date. Nevertheless, I believe
that we did go to our waitlist for 2 or 3 teams last year, so it's certainly
not out of the question. If memory serves me correctly, I believe that
activity happened about a week prior to the event.
