You can add 968 to the list. (254's twin).

Another team to add to the list is 3223, a rookie from Central Kitsap High School in Washington.

Teams 84 and 1391 were also able to hang from the vertical pipe at the Philly regional.

You can add 1511 to the list as well.

Now if only the potentiometer on the winch didn't break during the finals :(

Add 2090 to the list.
At San Diego and Arizona, about 30% of the teams didn't get any hang points. At Hawaii, only 2 out of 28 didn't have any hang points.

Add 1388 to this list, we could consistently drive up the pole and go under tunnels. If we latched on and started going up before the last 10 seconds we would get the bonus. Hooray for FP's and planetary gearboxes. :]

this is how you hang

1468 of Hicksville uses the vertical bar as well. Kind of like a one-handed pullup

Re: Vertical Pipe Hanging

I guess this thread was started to keep track of teams that utilized the innovative strategy of vertical pole hanging. However it seems that the strategy was not as innovative as we'd expected and it seems the list has grown exceptionally long to the point no one's keeping track anymore. While I am impressed with the number of teams doing this, at this rate we might as well start on the list of teams that can kick :p because that list will be finished around the same time this one is.

84 also latches and flips on the vertical pipe. I think there may have been a few others at Philly that haven't been mentioned yet.

1197 latches onto the bar and pulls itself up using a four-bar linkage system. We didn't get it working until late Friday at Los Angeles, but it gets the robot up in 6-8 seconds.

Once we got it working, that is.

Re: Vertical Pipe Hanging

We added one during championships but we only got it to hang once because every other time we either didn't have enough time or something wasn't working like it should.
