Network Problems

Well we got the robot last week, and today we went to try to run it. When we set everything up we were not able to communicate. I tried using straight to the Crio with Ethernet to make sure that the code and everything was on there, and it was.

I was wondering if there was something that was changed at the regional for it to recognize their system and has to be changed back, that i don't know of.

or does it sound let it is no good anymore

Re: Network Problems

At competitions they give your bridge a WPA key and after each regional you have to reset it and reconfigure it.

Hope that helps,

Wireless Security was enabled on your robot so that you could connect to the competition field network without having to worry about malicious interference from other wireless devices. You'll have to disable it in order to connect to your own wireless router. (You could also manage to set your wireless router to have the same security settings, but you probably don't know the WPA key that was used.)

To reset things to the way they were before you shipped your robot, plug your wireless bridge directly into your router, log in to it at address http://10.31.33.1/ with userid admin and password admin, go to the Basic Wireless page, and set the Wireless Security Mode to None. (I'm not absolutely certain that the userid is correct for the newer wireless bridge received by rookie teams. Check your control system documentation to make sure.)

Rookie teams received the old bridge. However, they received a new router that only runs on 2.4ghz. The bridge would have been configured to run at 5ghz for competition, so rookie teams will need to remove the WPA key and set the bridge back to 2.4ghz.
