Although not a nickname, my team now has a new way of measuring error:
Ace--1/8th of an inch or less
In honor of one of our freshmen this year, who consistently drilled holes that were an 1/8th of an inch away from where they were supposed to be.

I actually earned that nickname this year, as a mentor, by touching both terminals to our frame while picking up the battery.

My junior year I also gained the nickname Kellianna, as a joke when we were going over names on plane tickets.

One of our seniors is called T-Rex, I can't quite remember the situation.

Another of our seniors is called Butters because he looks like Butters off of South Park.

Last year, I was Freshman, Afro, 'Fro, or 'Fro kid.
And this year, with the change in hairstyle and grade level, they've all stuck around. -_-

We have two people with nicknames:

1: One of our members is named Joseph, so we renamed him Stalin.

2: We have a junior on our team with an unpronounceable Asian last name, and since we were calling him 'the American' for cultural incorrectness, he insisted that we quit calling him that. Given the trend from #1, we call him Lenin.

Oh, and to continue the dictator theme, Duncan tried to name the robot Fidel last year. And this year. And for the entirety of the foreseeable future.
Our robot is named Notch, by the way.

Current CEO is ACE - As in the helpful hardware place, need an ACE Run!
Drive Capt Marek is Capt Mareka
Programmer is Mouse because he looks like the dood from the matrix
Former student was D he lost his name privileges and only got a letter
Current student Y2D2 as he is the second coming of D
Anyone who acts up has the threat of becoming C3D0 as in the third D
Our former CEO was Whereis Leader as she was always running around getting everything done and hardly ever at the build site.
5'1" girl with a temper became known as Tiny bruisesand/or lil Evil

We had a new teacher join the team last year. His name was Mr. Kobielski, but he answered to Mr. K, Kobie, Kobie-sky, and his least favourite, Special K. We bought a box of Special K on our way to competition last year and riveted the logo to our robot.

Chuck: Threw up last year at the Buckeye Regional while waiting to go inside. The head mentor said it was so we could say "What's up, chuck?"

Muscles
: A short freshmen earned this name last year.

Duffel bag
: J-Wags left his duffel bag in the school parking lot on the day we were leaving for the Wisconsin regional, his parents had to drive two and a half hours to bring it to him.

Buster: I got this nickname because I jokingly threw a piece of delrin at someone, missed, and cracked a window. oops!

The arbiter of No: he always says no.

Also, it's always JB's fault. Even if he isn't in the building.

"The Science guy" To our VP, since he always includes science in his sentences
Mentor: "Drill a 1/4" hole out for me"
Him: "I'll drill a science hole for you"

"Droid" To our treasurer, since one of us proclaimed "First word that someone says becomes Bert's name" and one of the phones turns on and says "DROIDDD"

Sox-David-Programmer-Freshman year me and this other David both joined the team, and people would get annoyed every time someone asked for David and got two identical responses, so one day during a meeting someone randomly said "We can't do this any more. Davids, stand-up. Ok, you are Socks, cause that's the first thing I saw about you. And you are...Bud. Just cause." Luckily for me, Bud didn't stick.

Becky-Corey (Male)-Driver (Arm)-Long story about texting a freshman. If you go to nationals you can ask him yourself.

Yoshi-Calvin-One day he claimed he could fit a whole apple into his mouth. And he did, ergo, Yoshi!

Jose-Grig-Driver (Base)-My younger brother. When he first came, I claimed that was his name. So it is.

Battery Nazi-Alice-Batteries-She was really strict about our robot batteries, and we thank her for it.

My robotics nickname is Smurf. Our team's primary color is blue, which meant we use blue paint and spray paint a lot. Paint plus robotics kids usually means there will be a mess to clean up, but one time in particular I had an incident with a can of blue spray paint which left my arms and blue for about two weeks, which is how that nickname was born.
