Chuck, I love seeing your headgear in its intended application! ;)
Great looking robot! That hinged Lexan flap is a great idea. |

wow that reminds me exactly of our bot, the low flat top, the same kicker, the distance you get with it everything. Even the weight was about the same until we added weight in Silicon Valley.
![]() Though I'm curious, what exactly does your kicker use, direct drive, or is there tension? Ours was a direct toughbox with a cim and fp(with planetary). |

Our drive train is where things get weird, we had 8 wheels with the front and back 4 elevated 18 degrees. In theory it looked to be perfect for getting over the bump but it turned out to not work that way in practice. So we chopped the top to fit through the tunnel on the last day of build season, and at D.C. added the back 9th and 10th wheels (the 2 slick ones) in the middle-back of our bot to keep our bot from rocking backwards when grabbing balls.
So we have 4 traction on each side and 2 slick in the middle back of our bot. Total of 10 wheels, but only 4 powered wheels touch the ground in the middle of the bot. |
