The best we've done was probably asking for a wireless extension cord.

Team 256 would like their diamond pickaxe back. They need it to mine the iron for their robot.

We asked for redstone wiring last year.

I just have to say: that is AWESOME. I want one. ...EDIT: is it bad it took me a few days to realize I've been had... Probably. But hey, the concept of wireless power is still pretty cool

I guess I'll throw in my best pit announcement as to not completely derail this thread. I'm pretty sure at CTR last year, somebody put in a request for my sanity. It was never found...

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming

The main one i remember from the Oklahoma Regional was one day when the pits were about to close the announcer said "At 8:00 the doors will be shut and locked. At 8:01 the velociraptors will be released." Needless to say we did not hang around to find out if this was the truth.

While this one cowers beneath the hilarity of the others posted above,
at the Israel regional, we needed a #35 sprocket. So when I went to the PA to ask for exactly that, everyone's head turned - "What?>"
Then someone whispered in my ear to ask instead for a "Galgal Shinayim" (lit: wheel of teeth)

I fell for it! :p. That's probably one of the better ones I've seen.

What about, "Team XXXX needs some linear motion converters!" (Wheels)

Re: Funny things to ask for on the PA system

someone asked for a friction-less rod. they were serious (probably looking for delrin or something like it). they got trolled by some teams so the pit announcer had to revise it to low friction rod and tell everyone to stop annoying them (the team) about the mistake.

in GTR one year some members had the announcer say Congratulations Adam, and <insert girls name here> from team 772 on the proposal!". That was soo funny

One thing I want to do next year is "Team 2489 needs some sleep."
