Actually, Crescent is a brand name and the do make metric wrenches. These would be "metric Crescent wrenches". The use of Crescent wrench to describe an adjustable wrench is colloquial. That being said, there is no such thing as an adjustable metric Crescent wrench.

A team asked for a flux capacitor at the seattle regional this year. We gave them one. Then we asked for an angle trisector. They gave us one in return.

I heard the classic 'left handed wrench and Flux capacitor' at nationals! It made my hour!

I don't know if this one counts, but in the airport waiting for our flight to St.Louis this was said over the Airport's PA:

"Flight 489 is leaving in five minutes, whether your on the airplane or not. Don't whine if you miss it."

I think we should have enlisted this guy as a pit announcer!

We asked for a sonic screwdriver this year - because we actually needed one.
One of our members brought the Tenth Doctor's sonic to our regional, then proceeded to misplace it.
While his sonic wasn't found, two teams did come by to offer us the Eleventh Doctor's.

Back when I was a student member, my team once asked for a blow torch at the GLR. Immediately afterwards, Pit Admin went on the air to inform all teams that blow torches were not permitted.

At worlds this year, a few members of team 217, including myself, asked pit admin for curie to ask for our missing robot cart and return it to our pits. Keep in mind that team 217 was not competing at the champs this year... Before this we tried asking archimedes pit admin for our lost robot, but they just shook their head and threw it away....

I was just about to ask if anyone had ever asked for pneumatic fluid. It does sound legitimate enough until you think about it.

At the SBPLI regional, somebody from another team asked us for a flux capacitor, multiple times. When we told him we didn't bring one with us, he proceeded to ask every team in our pit row if they had one.

We tried to get the announcer at Championships to tell everyone team 4334 was looking for a rubber chicken. Think of all the potential uses!

But that is a legitimate thing to ask for.... You could have gotten plenty from the Thunderchickens... we left 217 of them in 2851's pit...

At championship they anounced that a team was missing ponies! LOL i thought it was a joke, but apparently it was true :P
