We just call 'em "FOD Generators". Applies to just about anybody--no, I don't work in a clean room, we just clean the area frequently, something about all the FOD generators doing work.

This reminds me of a high-powered rocket project I led a couple years ago at my company. Our facility was formerly designated as a FOD-free area but was since vacated, allowing the rocket project to take over. In tribute we called our project "FOD-ONE" (reverse-acronym sold to management was 'Flight on Demand')



For the middle 4 feet of the composite, 2-stage, 14 foot tall rocket, the name held true (due to a ripped main shock cord)


But hey, where's the fun if you don't create a little FOD, right?

From our competition this year, we ended up with 200-250 ethernet cable from the PTZ camera that they were using.

Today in the FRC pits they said "To the guys who are looking for 1.21 gigawatts: you know only a lightning bolt can generate that kind of energy!"

I wanted to go over and say "That means you have our flux capacitor! Give it back!" but the captain vetoed it.

Or go up to the Pit Admina and ask them to anounce that you're looking for your safety glasses, then wait and see how many are actually turned in.

We actually went to Pit Admin at Worlds asking for our alliance partners, because we couldn't find them and they had our pit-crew badges!

We usually ask for at least one funny thing at each competition.

2010 Chesapeake: "Team 1058 the PVC Pirates needs PVC glue"
2012 GSR: "Team 1058 needs 180 degree angle bracket"
2013 GSR: "Team 1058 needs non-ferrous steel"
2013 PTR: "Team 1058 needs and 8 inch PID loop"

Our team name is Devastators I'm going to ask the annoncers to announce when our team is going to a match. "Can someone find optimus Prime. Because the devastators are up right now."

Team 20 is stuck between a rock and a hard place. If somebody could send a winch their way it would be much appreciated.

I don't know, I feel like you could use the arrow in the knee meme somehow, as in:

"Team 20 used to build robots like you..."

On the way to St. Louis my mother told a few teamates that she would buy any one of them lunch if they asked for "Charley Barley Boo". This is what she called me when I was younger.
