pits close a 5 finals go till 6???
 

If the pits close at 5 on Saturday and the final rounds go till at least 6, when do we have time to knock down and load our pit for the trip home? I know I am probably jinxing our team by asking this but if we are in the finals we may need some tools or parts from our pit with us at the final matches so when do we have time to crate that stuff and our bot if the pits close at 5? I am the lucky soul that has to drive back to Milwaukee with our pit equipment and I am planning on leaving Atlanta EARLY Sunday so I will not have time to load it Sunday AM.

In the past it's stayed open as long as you needed. You want to pack early so you don't miss the party and the fireworks.

We were in the Curie Semi-Finals last year, and I know when we got back to the pits after we were eliminated the majority of teams were already packed. We had done about half of our packing prior to eliminations, so that it cut down on the amount we had to do once we were done.

I would venture to say that if you were one of those lucky teams that made it to Einstein or even the division finals, that you'll have plenty of time to pack once you're done.

As long as you're in the finals, you don't have to do anything to your pit or crate. When we packed in '07, there were about 20 total teams still packing in all of the pits (Einstein + Backup teams + stragglers). It appears that FIRST has the venue for long enough Saturday to let teams pack up after they're eliminated.

The schedule I'm looking at says that the pits close to the public at 5pm. If you make it to Einstein, don't worry about it.

When we made it to Einstein in 2008, we moved as much of our pit as we could to the dome floor. However, we still spent until 9:30PM cleaning up our pit and crating our robot back in the pits after awards.
