Hey guys! First off congratulations to all finalists!!!

Evelyn Waineright had the fabulous idea of creating a facebook group for all of us to connect and organize an Atlanta meet up. Even if you're not going to Atlanta it's amazing to talk with such an awesome group of fellow FIRSTers.

Little problem though, it's been hard to find all the winners through Facebook just based on names from award listings. (Lots of people share names out there :D) So if you are a Dean's List winner please friend me (Delia Votsch- I'm the only one on facebook!) or Evelyn Waineright, just make sure you let us know you're a fellow finalist so we can invite you into the group! Thanks so much! :D

Excellent idea- using the most unique name to ensure everyone can connect easily :P

Also, excellent idea in general. I just wish that the drumline (WGI) world championships were not perpetually scheduled on the same weekend as FRC chamionships (and prom!).

Hey, I think I conventently friended Evelyn during the Minnesota North Star Regional, so I'm in!

I'm the Greater KC Regional Finalist, and the other Finalist, Paul Sites from team 1730, I can talk to fairly easily to let him know.

I am not sure what exactly is going on with the RoboProm thing, but if the Dean's List Finalist stuff is involved, then I'm there!

Hey, what if we all sit together at the ceremony? We can all freak out together. :)

ALSO. There is hearsay of Finalists checking in to let FIRST know you're there... make sure you do that.

No, we couldn't either... we went last year on the waiting list. It's going to be different without the rest of the team there, but I'm really excited for this chance to go back to Atlanta!

So about registering at the event, does anyone have any details or a link that could help me clarify that process? I am a Dean's list finalist, and I plan to go to Atlanta but my team will not be there (we did not qualify). Any help would be appreciated.

Dean's List Finalists just need to sign in at the Pit Administration desk on Thursday so that organizers know which students are in attendance. It was in this email sent on the 7th.

Hey guys!
Sorry for the last minute response!!!
Our original planned meet up is actually during the awards ceremony!
We are also meeting at roboprom, at 8 PM the DJ is going to make an announcement and we're all going to meet in one corner of the room.
Some members of the group have designed/made Dean's List Finalist Buttons and will be leaving some extras at pit admin so when you check in tomorrow there will hopefully be a button waiting for you, if not some people will have extras in their pits. Wear the button on your left shoulder. Our hope is that we will all be able to recognize the buttons and talk to each other throughout the competition.

That's a pretty nifty idea (like the idea of having one team giving out slips of a individual team's match schedule - love that).

I'll have to see if there's a button at pit admin tomorrow. Any idea which pits they would be in if there's not at pit admin?
