Re: Divisional Preview
Only question now is: Will FIRST re-do the divisions, now that you guys leaked em?

Nope. |
Re: Divisional Preview
2337 is in Curie... too bad they're not designed in a way that us or 1114 could hang off them.

Re: Divisional Preview
If the division stay pretty close to this, Archimedes is far deeper than any of the other divisions, far less "predictable". It's interesting that they would do that.
G: 217, 2056, 1717 C: 1114, 469 N: 67, 971, 16 A: 25, 359, 148, 341, 71, 330, 1918 Just my take Sam |
Re: Divisional Preview
I'm afraid of 67 and 16 pairing up in Newton :ahh:
|
Re: Divisional Preview
My #1 alliance picks
Arc: 25, 148, 341 Cur: 1114,469 , 1986 Gal: 365,217,100 New:67,16, 294 or 971 Archimedes seems like its going to have the most action occurring. Curie also looks like it will be a tough field to play in. This will be an exciting event for sure. |
Re: Divisional Preview
I hope 1557 gets put on the same division as 1902!
:p on a side note, I hope 79 and 801 can play together again |

Re: Divisional Preview
Hey, don't forget that NJ and VA (undefeated at VA) winners 1676 are going to be on Curie too. We may be new to the top of the pile, but I think we're working our way up there...
|
Re: Divisional Preview
wow.
358 and 359 on the same field. Thought it would never happen Mark! You'll be close to us in the pits too! I hope 469 remembers who their alliance partners were in elims last year at CMP..........368:D 1114, 469, 368. Oh my! Archimedes is the deepest and we always seem to be stuck with them.:ahh: 25, 254, 330, 148, 118, 341, 1918, 33, 71, 103 just to name a few. My bet is all the teams I listed make elims. Of course, that's an easy bet. I hope we get picked 2nd with any two of the above.;) |
Re: Divisional Preview
Why couldn't you guys just wait and let the Division selection process get taken care of and then released in an appropriate official manner?
We constantly ask for a more transparent communication with FIRST. That requires respect and maturity on our side. If you guys are/were just guessing - fine - but if you were snooping and tracking down the info before it was ready to be officially released, that's pretty darn tacky. Jane |
Re: Divisional Preview
Hmm... so 1647 in Archimedes. Interesting division and should be quite exciting.

Strange that galileo's 1st team is 51. Archimedes at that point already has 5 teams on their list. |

No offense Jane, but when you have thousands of excited smart kids they are going to find stuff. If FIRST really wanted to keep this information out of the hands of the public they should not have put it on a public website. This has been a problem for the last few years and I don't hold any fault with the kids using their smarts in a legal way to get info they want. Bill's blog said that the divisions are subject to change so this is all just speculation until they are on FIRST's main page. |

Re: Divisional Preview
Well, it's probably exacerbated this year by the fact that they usually release the divisons by now. I think everyone's just excited and a little impatient. Nice to see kids excited about something other than when the latest Twilight movie is coming out.
|
Re: Divisional Preview
I am just waiting for all of this to be fake, and we all find out that this was all invalid information. This probably was released so they could drive us nuts with only a couple people of knowing the real information. It's just like a game hint, just not as exciting.

If FIRST, or anyone, puts a page out on a server and thinks that not having links to access it is a viable way of protecting it they are asking for that page to be found. If they really cared they would have secured the page properly. ANYTHING you put out online in an unsecured manner is fair game. Nothing illegal about accessing a page that you have access to. Security through obscurity is a bad idea. Now, if someone had decided to break through the security and access the files THAT is illegal. To my knowledge that did not happen though. |

I would be surprised if these didn't change. Although I don't know if I want them to, the competition on Archimedes is bound to be intense!
