It's going to get confusing having both of our teams on the same field this year! Even when we've played on different fields our superman themed students clad in red capes always seem to get mixed up. :)

That would make an awesome super alliance :)

HA! Every time I see a pic of your team I always do a double-take. Maybe we'll have to make "G", our field coach wear a Can-o-Spam hat - instead of a "cheese-head" a SPAM-head :D

We did a double-take the first time our team went to Atlanta and took a picture together to commemorate it:

I think there are several "super alliance" combinations...although I think alliances will be unpredictable.

With a field as deep as ours, there are countless alliances that could win regionals around the nation. The alliance that wins Medes (or even finalists) will be one of the best alliances of the year.

And since it hasn't been done in a while...

-MEDES!

There will be a ton of super alliances on this division.

@Chris is me- I don't think anyone is underestimating us, in fact just being on a prediction alliance as a third pick is huge considering all of the good teams on this division. However the alliances are picked the best teams will be playing in the eliminations.

A possible challenge for the emcee. This could prove to be quite fun. Or maybe our teams will just sit together and other teams will have to guess who's on what team.

That would just be cruel! Although, it would be entertaining if 1124 and 180 went up against each other...

I actually remember in 2008 one of their teams named their robot the ÜberBot, so I'd hear the emcee say that and be like "WHAT WE'RE PLAYING?!" So we'll see how it goes this time as well.

I remember last year in ATL my team saw 5 other teams with the same team shirt style...tho i doubt that'll happen this year with our "Cooking with the Juggernauts" theme...:) yay achimedes

"Looking Forward" has posted the "Top 25" team list (26 technically due to a tie), and 10 of them are on Archimedes.

And even more are in the honorable mentions. I think that LF said it best when they said

I don't think this is the place for it, but somebody mentioned it two pages ago...does anyone know where the NASA webcast for Championships is? The link from usfirst championships page only goes to regional webcasts, it seems.....is the Championships link only available during the actual competition? Thank you!

Was glad to see 997 ranked high on Joe Ross's calculations :D
[Yes, I'm a member of Team 956, but am coming with 997 as official team videographer, through a happy series of events.]

Looking forward to playing with some well-known teams! Good luck all!

Re: Archimedes 2010

hey everyone! Talon 540 will be in Archimedes this year and we are thrilled and anxious about championships!! We attended the Virginia regional at VCU and had many minor technical defects that were overlooked so we were not able to perform to our full potential at VCU. Fortunately, we figured everything out and got our robot working the way its supposed to and is ready for Atlanta! We should be able to work effectively in Archimedes and hope to do well so drop by and check us out. We are excited to meet all of the other teams in Archimedes and it should be an fun experience. Good luck to you all!! :)
