All,

Team 971 is checking in. The team has been busy practicing and fine tuning our bot. We had Jag reset code issues at SVR, didn't chain up the rear roller and didn't use our kickers effectively and we only manage to score 130 goals plus in 16 games.

If McMaster Carr would only deliver the dilithuim crystals before CMP I think we will get our cloaking device online and you won't see us coming or going. :)

Drop by our pit and say hi or come and scout us during quals and you will be in for a treat.

Good luck to everybody.

Roy

I found that posted in the Whitepapers section. A kind volunteer grabbed all the data from US FIRST and compiled it into a worldwide ranking!

That's kind of neat, but teams that played in more than one regional are listed more than once, which makes the rankings a little... funny.

Also, I don't think he added +5 points per match won for those who competed in the first week. That single adjustment would move us from 353th to 63rd...

...so while it's cool, I think it needs to be taken with a bit of a grain of salt.

Yes. Karthik mentions this many, many times when he posts up this type of data.

While it's not accurate by any standards, it's still kinda fun!

I think you've got it nailed! However, just to add to that, don't forget team 20, winners of the WPI Regional, as a 910-esque close zone scorer. And also, team 525 won Kansas City against a stacked alliance of 16 and 1625. Teams 1727 and 3123 teamed up to win the DC Regional, and 399 isn't that bad of a scorer. 2771 is an amazing close zone scorer despite not having a ball grabber or kicker. Finally, team 2669 racked up the scores at the Israel Regional, and won that event.

...Newton!

It's going to be a blast. I appreciate the compliment about our goal scoring ability. We do have a kicker, too, but haven't had to use it a whole lot. Especially when teams like 67 or 2619 feed lots of balls up to us!

Our whole team is geeked for Atlanta. Does anyone know how many qualifying matches are planned?

Depending on how fast teams can get on and off the field for reset im guessing we might get up to 12, but that would be amazing speed or im just being over-optimistic

10 would still be amazing though for Championships :D

When the divisions were being setup several of us were able to see a test schedule with everyone having 10 matches. It also was setup with a 6 minute turnaround for every match. Therefore, I don't believe that we will see any more than 10 matches particularly if there are any field issues.

Bill's Blog back in Octoberstated the goal was to get teams a minimum of 10 matches at all events. I would believe this is the number based on 85 teams to a division and the amount of time we have matches for.

Usually at champs teams get 7 matches, but with the addition of Thursday matches 9-10 is most likely. Highly doubt there will be more than 10 matches, especially with the field problems we've been having (hopefully these problems will be non-existent).

The Test schedule that was posted before divisions were posted indicated 10 matches.

Team 1922 is excited to be making it's first trip to Atlanta as Granite State finalist and Boston Regional winner. Last trip here was as rookie all-star. This time we are coming to play.

Tin Man is a powerful force from the midfield with a quick and efficient kicker with great mobility. Can't wait to play with the big dogs.

Also need to give a big shout out to the other Newton New Hampshire teams; 151 (Tough Techs), 166 (Chop Shop), and 1073 (The Force & Granite State regional winner!).

Look forward to a great competition.
