If Snoop performs I'll eat my shoe.

I'm personally pulling for Lady Gaga but whenever they call to book her she's kinda busy.

So many "haters" on these forums, why so prejudiced?

"Oh hey a rapper, what a bad influence" - closed minded CDer

"These kids are all a bunch of anti-social nerds hahahahaha" - closed minded rapper reading CD

You guys need more perspective in your lives. You who are so quick to bash the guy do realize that acknowledgment of FRC by someone like Snoop Dogg would be big publicity and a big statement for both FRC and Snoop right? Yeah.

.

The Whiner Squadron is never happy.

Maybe when the Large Hadron Collider discovers the Higgs Boson or antimatter we can implode these black holes of happiness. Until then, the only way to not fall victim to the Whiner Squadron is to steer clear of their event horizon, unless you want to get burned by their quasers of curmudgeon fury.

This is why not.

Thanks Art! I always jump at the chance to introduce these classics to a new generation.

I think you're right, but of course as a Rumor Mill thread this is supposed to be completely ridiculous.

Last time i checked, that wasn't rap, that was some lame boy band and some amateur rockers.

The sheer fact that someone made a song about FIRST excited me, not the music itself.

Can we get Bon Jovi to record a song for FIRST while they're down in ATL?

I would say that some Glitch Mob Glitch-Hop songs eclipse his technical ability. I mean, they rock shows with three multi touch Lemurs linked to ableton live, as well as a crapton of MIDI controllers and laptops, all synced with MIDI timecode... Let's see Snoop beat that.

Phantom Tollbooth?

The bonus points have been claimed.

Just to be clear: I have nothing against rap, rappers, or any other musicians/genres, provided that their lyrics/stage acts are reasonably clean. Rap has a reputation for not being reasonably clean. Not having heard Snoop Dogg or many other rappers, to the best of my knowledge, I choose to err on the side of caution.

I'm with Nawaid and Aniba. Art, Travis, Joe, Akash, and some others might remember that a few years ago (I think it was around 2003-2004), someone got a video of Will Smith talking about technology, directed towards FIRSTers. I would guess that something similar is afoot, or else that Snoop Dogg was thinking about going to another event in Atlanta (of which there are most likely several that would attract him in their general direction as strongly as FIRST would). Kind of doubt that there would be a performance.

Personally, I think the surprise is that the Finals/Awards ceremony will actually end on time this year.:ahh:

Last time i checked, they use a new pristine field for Einstein. With all the field troubles that we have had through the regional process. I would gladly put money up against that statement any day.

I think it would be more reasonable to say that by the time the Einstein teams get to the finale after packing up their crates. The fireworks show will be over...

Oh and didn't FIRST have Mandy Moore in 2002 for the Finale?

Correction: DISNEY had Mandy Moore in 2002. Half of the people rushed to see her play, the other half, including me, rushed to Epcot to get food and get on attractions.

There's lots of "I don't listen/don't know Snoop's lyrics" comments here. THANK JEBUS FOR GOOGLE!

Check it out and tell me if you think he'll end up performing.

I really hope that Snoop Dogg does not end up playing at the Dome and it if he does show up it is just as a special guest and not as the main attraction.

Keep comin up with funky designs like every single day
May i, kick a little something for the nerds (yeah)
And, make a few bumpers as (yeah!) I breeze, through
Two in the mornin and the partys still jumpin
Cause my inspections ain't done
I got students in the pit crew boltin it on
And, they aint leavin til six in the mornin (six in the mornin)
So what you wanna do,
I got a pocket full of zip ties and my homeboys do too
So turn off the breaker and close the dump valve
But (but what) we don't love them penalties, yeah!
So we gonna cut an ounce of weight to this
Time's up, tools down, while you supernerds bounce to this

Chorus: repeat 2x

Rollin down the field, smokin motors, watchin those chains get loose
Laid back [with my mind on my robots and my robots on my mind]

That is great!!! A++

Hey, there's a Gaga concert the day before IRI. I think that's the closest we'll get :P
