Well I doubt it can get past the front gates because of "safety first"

That chair looks like it could be disastrous if the power failed.

If you build one of these, please put some sort of "anti-tip" rollers either forward or rear to stop high velocity cranial impact.

Actually, is looks like a tip on a regular segway would be worst. If this falls, you jump to your feet. On a regular segway (assuming some oddball complete failure which is very rare) you would end up doing a face plant.

If this falls backward, it's far worse than the segway...

At champs, 461 had a homemade segway made out of 80/20 and lexan, and powered by CIM motors. According to them, it cost about $800, including the fancy $400 lithium-ion batteries.

Eeek, Lithium ion is daaangerous. They should be using Lithium Iron Phosphate. Much more stable, and just as light/energy dense.
