Safety Pin: Yellow Hard Hat

I have heard that the yellow hard hat safety pins are given out to someone who shows exemplary safety, to runners-up for the safety award, or to all the safety captains.

I am just curious. I couldn't find it on any other posts here: What are these safety pins given out for?

Thanks!

They are given to the winning team who wins the District or Regional Safety Award. That's as far as I know, there could be other reasons too.

Runner ups also get them and occasionally the safety guys will hand them out when you exemplify safety in an exceptional manner.

Yellow Hard Hat pin = Safety Recognition Program - collecting safety tokens

Oval Safety FIRST pin = UL Safety Award winner

We have received the hard hat pin for both of these events, winning the regional safety award as well as for the safety token (honorable mention). Is the oval one new?

Save for maybe the early days, we've received the "Safety FIRST" pin for the UL Safety Award, and the hard hat for the token recognition.

Maybe it's a regional thing? Who knows.
