Dean's List Finalists
Is there a list somewhere of all 96 Dean's List finalists? I've been searching but can't seem to find one.

Re: Dean's List Finalists
I have not seen such a list, but one could be compiled from the awards pages of the individual events.

Here's a list but I have only 92 Finalists.
I counted 43 Regionals for 86 Finalists, plus Michigan State (noted as GL below) awarded 6 Dean's List Finalists = 92. Who did I miss? The original question marks have been answered by subsequent posters. P.S. I incorporated Kevin and Joe's and Jane's and Cynette's information. 79 ------------ Mark Wahnish -------- FL 111 ----------- Alyssa Zielinski ------ IL 122 ----------- Julia Thompson ----- VA 177 ---------- Katherine Desy ------ CT 180 ---------- Brian Boudreaux ----- FL 228 ----------- Tina Dutra -------------- WPI 230 - --------- Emily Spoldi -------- CT 247 ----------- Zack Medow ------------ GL 280 ----------- Alyssa White ----------- GL 281 ---------- Megan Shew -------- SC 341 ----------- Evan Ostrow -------- PA 357 ----------- Kyle Tress ---------- PA 360 ----------- Sarah Sawatzki -------- OR 399 ----------- Trevor Longergan ----- CO 401 ----------- Zach Cantrell -------- NC 433 ----------- Mary Elizabeth Entwistle -- PIT 503 ----------- Tom Pawlicki ------------ GL 503 ----------- Tim Bello ------------ GL 537 ----------- Matt Kline ---------------- MN2 548 ----------- Beth Hadley -------------- GL 578 ----------- Carly Buchanan ---- ROC 585 ----------- Taylor Wood ------------- UT 604 ----------- Eugene Fang -------- SJ 692 ----------- Marian Styer -------- SAC 694 ----------- Seth Berg --------------- NY 704 ----------- Matthew Ricks ------ DA 930 ----------- Samantha Scharles -- WI 931 ----------- Elena Wylie ---------- MO 987 ----------- Niikki Beaman ------- NV 1002 ---------- Kyle Fender --------- GA 1014 ---------- Phil Aufdencamp ---- OH 1094 ---------- Andrew Amburgey -- MO 1160 ---------- Adela Wee ---------- CA 1261 ---------- Tanner Smith -------- GA 1310 ---------- Evelyn Wainewright - WAT 1480 ---------- Carlos Pineda ------ TX 1511 ---------- Crystal Vongnaphone - MA 1519 ---------- Nathan Streeter ----- NH 1535 ---------- Ian Graham -------- WAT 1540 ---------- Henry Gordon --------- OR 1541 ---------- Brian Kim Eng ------ VA 1569 ---------- Dirk Stahlecker -------- UT 1635 ---------- Fatema Akhtar ------- NY 1675 ---------- Kathryn Widen ------ WI 1676 ---------- Ethan Hayon -------- NJ 1690 ---------- Neta Ostrovsky ------ IS 1712 ---------- Delia Votsch --------- DC 1717 ---------- Nicole Schauser ---- SDC 1718 ---------- Kevin Kline -------------- GL 1730 ---------- Paul Sites ----------- KC 1732 ---------- Justin Chan ---------- IL 1741 ---------- Trevor Settles ------- IN 1750 ---------- Jonathan Yarbrough -- OK 1778 ---------- Emilie Anne Woog --- WA 1817 ---------- Dakota Keyser ------ DA 1836 ---------- Nathan Schloss ----- CA 1912 ---------- Andy Zhou ---------- LA 1912 ---------- Christopher Collins --- LA 1923 ---------- Krishna Yarabala ---- NJ 1986 ---------- Collin Robinett ------ KC 2052 ---------- Bryan Herbst ------- MN 2056 ---------- Zac Young --------- ON 2068 ---------- Chris Dorick -------- DC 2081 ---------- Matt Birkel ---------- IN 2161 ---------- Brian Jaworski ------ LI 2172 ---------- Mathew Bliss ------- OH 2175 ---------- Aren Siekmeier ------ MN2 2199 ---------- Katie Miles ------------- MD 2377 ---------- Stephen Johnston --- MD 2430 ---------- Brandon Dean ------ SC 2431 ---------- Ty Prather ---------- OK 2437 ---------- Caitlin Mori --------- HI 2438 ---------- Sean Cockey ------- HI 2486 ---------- Thomas Zokowski -- AZ 2489 ---------- Anna Liu ----------- SJ 2543 ---------- Mason Weber ------ SDC 2583 ---------- Ashvin Bashyam -- TX 2589 ---------- Samantha Jarrell ----- CO 2614 ---------- Luke Scime -------- PIT 2648 ---------- Blake Bourque ----- MA 2660 ---------- Michael Calkins ---- WA 2846 ---------- Sean Grogan ------ MN 2935 ---------- Kishan Shah ------ ON 3009 ---------- Nathan Richner ---- NV 3015 ---------- Ben Vespone ----- ROC 3125 ---------- Eric Gehrken --------- WPI 3132 ---------- Sarah Heimlich ---- NH 3170 ---------- Tyler Burrough ----- AZ 3171 ---------- Nick Panzarino ----- LI 3189 ---------- Geir Lindborg ------ SAC 3215 ---------- David Pudlo -------- NC 3368 ---------- Ingrid Fielder ------- IS Plus, of course, the Championship winners: 548 ----------- Beth Hadley 694 ----------- Seth Berg 1002 ---------- Kyle Fender 1480 ---------- Carlos Pineda 1535 ---------- Ian Graham 1712 ---------- Delia Votsch 2437 ---------- Caitlin Mori 2614 ---------- Luke Scime 3132 ---------- Sarah Heimlich 3368 ---------- Ingrid Fiedler |
Re: Dean's List Finalists
Check with the FF guys, they determined what teams had Dean's List winners for everyone.

Re: Dean's List Finalists
Based on the team numbers I have from my Fantasy FIRST data and some names I recognize from here on CD I can fill in team numbers for all of them except San Diego.
2172 Mathew Bliss ------------ OH 1014 Phil Aufdencamp -------- OH 230 Emily Spoldi ------------- CT 177 Katherine Desy ---------- CT 180 Brian Boudreaux ------- FL 79 Mark Wahnish ---------- FL 3015 Ben Vespone ---------- ROC 1750 Jonathan Yarbrough ------ OK 2431 Ty Prather ---------------- OK 2430 Brandon Dean ------------ SC 281 Megan Shew -------------- SC 1094 Andrew Amburgey -------- MO 931 Elena Wylie -------------- MO 1310 Evelyn Wainewright ------ WAT |

Re: Dean's List Finalists
And if you don't mind, Crystal from Team 1511 is Crystal Vongnaphone. For some reason she really likes the extra n in her name. :o

Re: Dean's List Finalists
Glad to throw in extra letters. I often do so without even being asked.

Done and done.
I believe we have a complete list for Carolyn. |
Re: Dean's List Finalists
Thank you very much to all!!:)
I wish FIRST would make this list public on their website somewhere, I think it's a great honor and all finalists deserve to be mentioned and recognized there. |
Re: Dean's List Finalists
You could ask to have this become a sticky here in CD.
That way, we would have ready access to it. You could also forward the list that has been compiled to FIRST with your suggestion. :) It is a good one. Perhaps, the Dean's List Award caught everyone by surprise and they will be able to better plan in the future, including providing the information in the FIRST website. Jane |
Re: Dean's List Finalists
I would still like to see the award entries. Not just the ten winners, but the 86 other finalist, and even the nominees. The fact that students were nominated for the award means that there is obviously something incredible about them and worth sharing. Please post your award entries, I would love to read them.

2791 nominated two amazing students (the above line doesn't apply to us), but it was less because we were itching to get them honored and more because of the KoP discount. If it weren't for the possibility of that, we wouldn't have done it on such short notice. Not because the students didn't deserve recognition, but because we had other stuff to do at the time. |

I actually find that very shocking, but I disagree that the line above didn't apply to those two students. You called them amazing which means that there is obviously something incredible about them and worth sharing. On another topic: I'm really curious as to which grade the Dean's List recipients are in. Can we add that to the list? |

I can guarantee that - that - is not how Dean Kamen wanted to honor his parents. Jane |

Just hearing Seth talk about how excited he is to visit Dean's house and meet all the great people there reminds me why I decided to stick around as a mentor. The discount is just an awesome bonus but honestly if the discount wasn't there we still would have submitted the same essays and our marketing team would have worked just as hard at honoring our dedicated members. |
Re: Dean's List Finalists
I didn't mean to imply that these students didn't deserve recognition. They're awesome students! Basically what happened is we got the email 5 or 6 hours after it was sent out. We were in the midst of a very busy post ship and when we read that the deadline was so soon, we initially didn't want to do it. We wouldn't be able to decide as a team who to nominate and work together to draft essays worthy of the students we selected. We later learned of the KoP discount and because of that, we threw something together overnight that, while not very good, at least put their names on the table. It wasn't the team effort I wanted it to be.
My point was maybe a few teams rushed some essays out the door of students without much thought, and because of that we can't automatically say "Dean's List Candidate = Amazing student loved and supported by all on their team". 2791's nominees were great students, but maybe other teams had problems... |
