Re: Ramp Riot 2010 : The Official Thread

To the Teams and Supporters of Ramp Riot:

Ramp Riot is only successful because of its Teams and VOLUNTEERS. We deeply appreciate all of the help receive form the FIRST community on event day. At this early stage almost all volunteer positions are unfilled.

So, if you are interested in volunteering at Ramp Riot, please go to www.team341.com
Under the Ramp Riot section you will find a very simple online form that will help us place you in the position you want.

As always, there will be food in the Volunteer/VIP room and you will score a Ramp Riot crew shirt. We also have one of the best retirement plans in the industry. :)

So if all of this sounds good to you, you are either crazy or a member of FIRST. Just register on the website and we'll place you in your desired job.

Thanks again for volunteering!!

Re: Ramp Riot 2010 : The Official Thread

To the Teams and Patrons of Ramp Riot:

Each year at Ramp Riot we collect canned goods for the Mattie Dixon Community Cupboard from individuals and teams.
We also hold a competition among the teams to bring the most cans each year.

We will once again give the team that delivers the most food cans, the Mike Wade Memorial Award.
This beautiful eagle trophy is given each year in honor of Mike Wade, a NASA Goddard employee who was a major patron and founder of the East Coast Off-season event schedule.

Whether you are an individual or a team, please consider bringing canned goods to Ramp Riot for the sake of the people served by the cupboard and in honor of Mike Wade, who gave so much to us all.

Every donation makes a difference!
Thanks!

Re: Ramp Riot 2010 : The Official Thread

In addition to the canned food drive we also are seeking student involvement with our Girls in Gear program.

Girls In Gear: We are looking for experienced female FRC members to act as tour guides for our Girls in Gear, Girl Scout Technology Program.
The job will be easy and fun. All the FRC girls have to do is take a group of girl scouts and their adult troop leader on a loop to different activity stations and maybe talk about FIRST a little bit along the way.

Please let me know if you are interested. So far we have 6 girls from Team 2016 and we could use about 6 to 8 more.

Thanks!

Alan Ostrow

Even though we didn't compete, I thought the event was great and loved it for my first time being there. I hope to be at the next RR if I am around the area next year.

FYI, The Chairman's Award is unbelievably cool up close in person.

Re: Ramp Riot 2010 : The Official Thread

What an excellent event! Every year I am more and more amazed with how well this event is set up. Thank you 341. It is greatly appreciated!

On behalf of team 103, I would like to make some well deserved thank-yous.

Thank you team 341 for showing everyone how a Chairman-Winning team presents itself. All of your students, mentors, and volunteers are amazing!

I would also like to thank our alliance, although we did not compete long. It was great fun, and a great learning experience for our new kids.

Congratulations to all of the winners! You guys were great, and it was so much fun watching you!

But most of all, I would like to thank all of the attending teams. This year we have 15 new members, and all of them got that first spark of inspiration I was hoping they would see. Every team at the event showed our kids how a team is run well, and how Gracious Professionalism can be applied to everything.

Once again, many thanks to everyone!

Phil on behalf of the Cybersonics Technology Team, 103

Thanks again to Miss Daisy for hosting an awesome competition! It was a blast as always. And thank to all the volunteers who made the whole event run so smoothly. Not just FRC; I always enjoy the extra (FTC, Girls in Gear, etc) programs you guys do. What an effort!

And thank you to our alliance, 303 and 522, though we didn't play for long. (Sorry about the breakdown; it's been a looong season.) Congrats to all the champions and award winners as well, you guys definitely deserve it!

And a special thank you to all the other attending teams for making Ramp Riot such a great experience. It's always a great way to introduce our new rookies and give us vets a fun time. See you get year!

I'd just like to thank our alliance captain, team 2016, and our alliance mate, team 1403. It was the first time my team made it to the finals, and we put up a good fight. And of course, a HUGE thank you to team 341 for hosting this event. This was my last Ramp Riot, and it was an awesome one.

Re: Ramp Riot 2010 : The Official Thread

On behalf of MOE 365, thanks to all the Daisies and Ramp Riot volunteers for, once again, allowing us to play in your garden! What a fun garden party it was!

It was great to catch up with FIRST friends, show some new students the lay of the land, and participate in a fun and competitive event.

Special thanks to

Al Ostrow for his excellent communications and organization up through the event,
Paul Kloberg and Don Bowers for organizing field transport and logistics,
Pete Kieselbach for being one of the best FIRST FTAs out there. We will miss you. All the best in your new assignment in Connecticut!
Vulcan Robotics - FRC 1218 - Thanks for selecting us. You were an awesome alliance leader. Looking forward to being on the same team again soon!
Mechanical Marauders - FRC 271 - Fantastic defense and autonomous mode! It was great to run eliminations with you guys!
Rob Ervin - thanks to your gracious professionalism (and local residence), MOE was able to get back in competition form before elims. Thanks so much for all your efforts to help us!

Thanks to everyone in attendance who made "The Riot" such a good time.

See you all in January!
