Need help finding a team

My cousin has expressed interest in becoming an engineer and asked me what she should be doing now to prepare for college. I said she should join a FIRST team. This is her senior year so I need to find her one fairly soon. I went and looked by regional and found team 87 in Mt. Holly, NJ (should mention she lives on McGurie air force base). I checked out their site and can't tell if they are still an active team or not. Anyone from team 87 out there who can answer that question. For that matter, are there any more teams in that area I missed?

87 did compete this year.

What part of New Jersey is she from? Some teams are willing to take anyone from a particular region rather than being tied to a school.

They attended the Chesapeake and Philadelphia Regionals. They seem to be active.

See if you can get in touch with the regional direct there. They should be able to help you. I think you can find their contact information on the first website.

87 is definitely a great team. 816 is also close to 87, I believe. 816 has been having a bit more success than most in NJ these past few years so I would expect them to be a very interesting team to learn from.

Thanks for the help. Now all I need to do is convince my cousin to look into it. Last time I saw her three years ago she refused to talk to anyone by my aunt for some reason. This should be fun.

Well, at the very least, she should try to make it up to North Brunswick for Brunswick Eruption in October. 45 minutes from McGuire, tops. Team 1676 will even adopt her.
