Re: [FF]: Season Long Waiver Discussion

Chris, the problem is the number of events. Your talking about 50 events in less than a month with two holidays.

It is fine to start around December 1st if we realize that redrafts might be required.

Re: [FF]: Season Long Waiver Discussion

I'll say this: anything more than 2 drafts per day will be draining on everybody. Is it doable? Yes. Is it practical? No. With 50 events, that's 25 days-no redrafts, no "slack days", no breaks except for holidays. Anything during build season is not practical for other reasons.

However: The big "culprits" are MI events. Lots of good teams, lots of late shuffling. If the MI events, and the double regionals, are all drafted after 12/15 or the appropriate date next year, then I'd estimate 50% of the problem is gone right there.

The other option, which we might have to do eventually, is 3 drafts per day. If there is a rerun needed, and I can have a clear schedule, we could try that for one day, and one day only. In that case, I'd use the latest list I had, whether it was the original or a revised one.

Not that I'm suggesting it, but we really do have the personnel to do 4 or even 5 (I can run a draft) drafts at the same time.. Ridiculously confusing? Yes. Doable? Quite.

It's not the runners I'm particularly worried about, especially with the program we've got. We've got 4 regulars and a couple of others who have run drafts, so we could in a pinch run 4-6 drafts if we had to.

It's the folks submitting the lists. The last time I floated pulling a 3-a-day, there were complaints about it being too much pressure or something like that. Doing that for 3-4 weeks in a row could be a lot of pressure, especially if the draft runners don't get a day off and need to skip a day or two. That's why I'm suggesting a trial 3-a-day for a rerun--if it works out well, great, if not, we know that we can't do that.

Along with MI and double events, we need to watch out for places like Washington or Texas that keep their team list hidden because of grants.

Just realized I lopped 20 off the last list I posted in this thread for BAE Tier 1. It should be:

BAE Tier 1: 20 133 172 176 241 319

They were on the previous list from Alex and posted in the list in the tier so they should still be able to be processed this week I think.

So who are the waiver winners from last week's set?

I definitely can't speak for everyone, but I would not participate in the future if it was 3-a-day. I don't have 3 hours a day to spend making lists, and I'm sure that the current college kids don't have time either (not to mention that I'm already wondering how I'm going to get 12 lists done before the 26th, when I leave to go visit family for 3 days).

I had to rerun it after someone changed their picks on Sunday, I will post it tonight or tomorrow.

Nice work Alex! I have about 4 hours to kill in an airport so I can go through and check teamlists for the events we have drafted and put up new/missing teams.
