During the practice matches there were so many tubes on the field during later matches it started to be come annoying when trying to get a certain color tube. Also, is it just me or are all the NJ tubes over inflated? |

Re: 2011 New Jersey Regional
We found a problem with our code near the end of the day, and got autonomous working at 9:50 while they were trying to shove us out the door.
The problem that was causing our robot to not move was that we were using the built-in Disabled() function to reset our pistons when we disabled the robot, but since the robot starts off disabled it would attempt to reset the pistons...which never got a chance to be declared. We'd get an error, and lose all comms while the cRIO crashed and reset itself. The next time we enabled the robot, the code would work because everything was declared. This problem has been plaguing us for a long time now, I'm so glad we fixed it. You guys are up for a surprise tomorrow, I think. I have high hopes for my team. Good luck! Re: 2011 New Jersey Regional
So I walked in this morning with 2 other team members for the setup. We get to our pit and start unpacking things. I tell one to get the power cord out, and I turn around to do something. Then I start to hear a hissing noise. Turn around, and there's the kid watching a thick cloud of fire extinguisher smoke exploding out of our toolbox. After that our tools looked like they went through a nuclear holocaust.
Probably the best thing I'll ever remember from any competition, we laughed about it all day. |

If you have a good ground loader all you are doing is making it easier for you to score. There are 18 tubes per alliance, enough to fill each alliances respective rack. I think it is a waste of time going back and forth across the field when you can have your human player throw the tube to you. There are 18 tubes, and no rollover between matches. What are you saving them for? |

1. Many of the human players can not throw across the field accuratly and consistently. 2. Many are not being very smart they are throwing in bunches often and are even throwing when none of their alliance is around 3. In addition to 1 human players have trouble throwing sometimes to even the middle of the field playing right to the other alliance. I am confussed by all this throw throw throw. I get there is times for it but not like this |

I still think in elims, or any difficult quali match that has more than 2 competent robots, people will limit their floor loading/tube throwing. |

I would instruct OUR human players to throw them all on the field, if and only if I knew we could score much more effectively than the other alliance. It seemed that either throwing them all out, OR being smart and starving the other alliance, made very little difference compared to better/less effective robots. As suspected, if two good teams with dependable minibots go up against teams that dont deploy any, its over. |

Re: 2011 New Jersey Regional
I am noticing that all these tubes are clogging the lanes for the slot feeders. It makes it very hard to get to the slot with three tubes in your way.

Re: 2011 New Jersey Regional
So far 2016 and 1647 have VERY fast minibots, I haven't had the chance to see 25 yet.
