Re: Waiting patiently for the 2011 hint!

I'm pretty sure that the tennis ball hint was a clue for the college game, as well as the 30k feet one.

Re: Waiting patiently for the 2011 hint!

No. And No.

The college FIRST pilot has a completely separate Game Design Committee. So the picture of the tennis ball, which was posted by dlavery here, is not related to that. Same for the 30,000 feet one, posted by Bill on the FRC blog. AFAIK, neither of those two persons is on the collegiate GDC (they have enough problems designing one game already).

The tennis ball is not the official clue, either. EVERYTHING posted here is unofficial, unless it is linked back to official sources (FIRST site, Bill's Blog, Game Manual, and the like), in which case it is only official as far as the quote/link goes. Dave Lavery may be a GDC member, but on these forums, nothing he says can be taken as official, unless he specifically says that it is (in which case, the official sources comment earlier comes into play, as Dave always links back to the official source location).

Why did someone have to post about how they were waiting patiently for the hint? Now everyone's impatient!

Re: Waiting patiently for the 2011 hint!

In addition, they usually post the hint on the FIRST website on the FRC page, which there currently isn't no post as well as I'm sure Bill will mention it on his Blog and all. Plus you will know when it is released here on CD as that is the only thread that will be getting the comments.

It's Driving me crazy! I understand these clues have nothing important to do with the game (last year the Picture of the Ball Return was the closest thing we had to real). It is fun to speculate, get's all the juices flowing in the brain in time for Kick-Off.

I hope they release one soon. The fact I've been getting on a computer whenever I can to check for one during school means I'm getting close to going insane.

You and me both. I set my homepage as Bill's blog so I can check for a hint every time my browser opens.

I have been doing the same. Checking during english while writing essays. Write a sentence, chief delphi, write another.... Computer Programming Class, write a couple lines of code, bills blog, another couple lines.... Then homeroom is the worst. I just refresh the FRC page on the FIRST site every 30 seconds. I think I have gone mad.

well, by Einstein's definition of insanity, yes, you currently are, but I'd say the whole lot of us are in that same boat :D

Myself Included. Many of us are waiting patiently for this hint and Bill, if you are reading this, please give us something that will distract us long enough so that between now and January 8th doesn't seem like it will last f o r e v e r.

If Bill won't give us an official hint in the very near future, maybe Dave will give us some more red herrings to keep us entertained! ;)

We technically have 9 more days until we reach the day they released it last year! ;)

Re: Waiting patiently for the 2011 hint!

OK, I've been holding back. But Dave has left me no choice... I have to go with the nuclear option....

To the tune of Oh Tannenbaum...

Code:

Oh Dave Lav'ry
Oh Dave Lav'ry
When will you give us a game hint

Oh Dave Lav'ry
Oh Dave Lav'ry
It surely will be a big hit

An obtuse picture would be nice
Or maybe something that has blue ice

Oh Dave Lav'ry
Oh Dave Lav'ry
How desperate are we for a hint

heh, its pronounced nucular, dummy, the "S" is silent

Maybe we can send out a recon group up to Manchester and find out what this years game is. Heck with the clue.

Re: Waiting patiently for the 2011 hint!

In the same vein as Drive!Straight.Turn?Left! (or whatever) the hint is hidden in the most unfindable location - directly in front of us.

I would bet two Krispy Kremes that the 2011 game is named Top Secret.
(unfortunately the KK store by us went out of business)
