LSU robotics program looking for new members!
 

Hello CD, I'm not new to the forum but I am new to posting threads. So bear with me if you will. Now down to the point.

I am a Undergrad student in my freshman year at Louisiana State University and a mentor on a local FIRST team. I was just inquiring into how many current high school students involved in FIRST are planning to attend LSU next year and if they were interested in joining a robotics program at the university.

Currently all the work being done is being accomplished with only myself, and two other PhD students who are graduating in the next couple semesters. So, obviously I will be left alone and short-handed soon! I was unable to attend a major technical college for robotics due to some financial difficulties and the loss of my brother but I want to make a serious change in the way people view robotics at LSU, and perhaps lead some exciting research in the development of robotics in general.

I fell in love with FIRST during the two years I participated and know it helps breed some great future roboticists! Hi there,

I've been looking for someone on this campus that has an interest in FIRST like me. I too and an undergrad at LSU. I'm a sophomore Computer Science major from Houston, Texas. I was apart of the DiscoBots (2587) my senior year of high school and feel in love with FIRST. I go back and mentor whenever I'm back home so learning and gaining experience. All last year, I was trying to find a robotics program here that would help me start up a college VEX team here at LSU. I haven't really had much time especially during the fall semester because I am apart of the marching band. I would really like to help with changing the way robotics is viewed at LSU.
