Question about the Autodesk Award

Does anybody know if you can use the FIRST CAD Library and still be eligible for the Autodesk Award? Also, would you be able to download bolts and fasteners as a step file from McMaster Car and still be eligible?

Re: Question about the Autodesk Award

I'd think that would be a question for FRC Q&A or for Autodesk.

I'd be surprised if you had to CAD everything yourself to be eligible, though. REALLY surprised.

Re: Question about the Autodesk Award

Well, I've been told that in the past only things drawn in Inventor have been eligible, and when you import to inventor it has an origion tag that makes it clear it wasn't created there. That's the driving point behind the question. I suppose we could just be patient and wait for the Q&A to open, but where's the fun in that? ;)

Re: Question about the Autodesk Award

Folks,

Entries to the Autodesk Inventor Award are eligible when using vender-supplied content, be it hardware (bolts, etc) or FIRST vendors (andymark, etc).

Our primary concern is regarding custom components and assembly design. Our interest is to ensure this work was done natively in Inventor, and not imported from other products.

I encourage you to review the award criteria if you have further questions.

Kind regards,
Pete
