Well we figured out hint #1.

Locomotion= towing something. This is all we care to divulge on this. ::rtm::

Now we need the rest of the clue coming on hint #2

after looking at the pdf found here, it says "The 2011 Hint". After seeing that, it looks like it might be the only one

There certainly are quite a few responses in the Game Hint #1 thread. Everything is speculation at this point.

By the looks, 1114 has already figured out both #1 and #2. They're still behind 71, who is just about done with their robot for the 2012 season, is getting driver practice for 2011, and is working on their robot designs for the 2013 water game. You're still way behind.

I'm hoping that we receive hint #2 a week before kickoff. This will give a huge spark to all teams and get the FIST community buzzing.

So all I want for Christmas is Hint #2.

No wonder!

But 71 is still behind 25, who has made 3 different robots for 2011 for small scrimmages, finished the mechanical side of things with their 2012 robot, and is water-proofing their electronics as we speak for the 2013 game. :p

I also believe that Dave has been hinting at multiple hints (*facepalm*), and while that doesn't mean much on it's own, I'll believe what Dave says if there's some kind of backup from Bill.

When I saved it, the image title was "FRC 2011 Game Hint 1" which implies there will be a FRC 2011 Game Hint 2.

Unfortunately, they the FRC 2011 Game Hint 2 isn't already uploaded...(assuming it has the same file extension, and is in the same directory, and has the same name pattern (FRC 2011 Game Hint #))

Last year, they didn't use similar name patterns, I don't know what the names were, but they followed different patterns.

Answer to Game Hint #2: Everything you guessed in Game Hint #1 is false. Spend 48 more hours dismantling the hints.

Game Hint #2: An easy to figure out hint that gives a password to the game PDFs, but the password unlocks a fake version of the manual, leading to the greatest red herring in the history of FIRST.

Or at least like those tests that they used to give in school on following directions where the first direction is to skip all the questions and go right to the end. Make one of the rules be that these rules are not real.

Not really all they have to do is "accidentally" post an "early edition" of the manual, then drop the hint #2 knowing that eventually we would try the password on the old one. The manual could be perfectly believable up until the day of kickoff when a completely different game is revealed

Or have made the decryption test file the red herring manual. Oh how that would have messed with people if they thought that they screwed up and released the actual manual.

I liked 2008's IR sensor chip hint that was sent to us in the mail. It was pretty fun to get something physical and personal that we could play around with. I hope one of these hints is something like that.

I've been pretty bored this weekend, so I've just been on the FIRST site going to random pages. Something I found that interested me was that they follow a very precise system on creating new pages.
The system assigns each page a number based on the order it was created in. For example, the game hint's (the picture) number was 18713. The post after it was 18714, and that was about the game hint being posted. After a little more snooping , which is bad I know, but I didn't get a Christmas present from the GDC this year >=(, and I found that while the page numerically after it is blank, the one after that one is not! If you look on the navigation bar on the top, they have already named that page for what they want to use it for. It's a flier for the St. Louis Championship (no content yet though). After that is a blank page for the 2011 Decryption Test. After continuing on, and finding some more posts, at id number 18728 I find the title of the page to be "Content to be Published".
My thinking is that in those blank pages, or in that page to be published, there is the second game hint. Maybe in the source code? I haven't looked to deep into that yet.
Not saying that really anything can come from this, but it helps people like me from tearing their hair out before kickoff :)

hmm, your right. There are extra pages. In fact, 18713 is the game hint picture and its labeled "2011 game hint" but if you go back to 18712 its a blank page called 2011 Game Hint 1. I see nothing in the source code hinting at anything though. And it seems like it would be a pretty big hint if there was.

New Years on 3 hours 38 minute then watch the clue come out the first day of the new year

p.s 7 days 18 hours and 38 min till kickoff then well know for sure the game Back on track or LOco-motion are team is already for 6 week of lilttle sleep and lil skool work just build build build to win it all

As of 3:50 this morning on the FIRST of January there has been no release of clue #2. Here is to hoping that it is at least released later today

Keep in mind too, that when the picture is scrolled over that it is labeled "2011 game hint 1"
i feel like theyre trying to throw us off course though, like it was said earlier, their pages are numbered, and ive noticed that in the past.
Or were just stuck with the way things are with one clue that may contain all the answers.

Grrr, I was really hopeing hint number 2 would come out during Break, but here we are 1 day left of it and not a clue insight. Well I'll be back to checking the computer everyday prior to lunch for the clue.

I'm going to check before school, during lunch, and repeatedly after school for the hint. I just hope my mind doesn't wander during class thinking if the hint was just released or not.

School will take a day or two to get back into. A game hint now would give all of the robotics kids something to talk about Monday and Tuesday.

I agree. For Hint 1, all my other teammates who take physics with our mentor found out an hour later, I meanwhile didn't know till 2:00.

Yeah I agree with the people who said there might not even be another hint.

Maybe since the whole locomotion concept could be a major part of the game they decided to release another clue.

Oh well...only six days until Kickoff! :)

interesting... the link says hint but the mouse over says hints. it could mean either there is going to be more then one hint or it could be a spelling error. I just really hope its the 1st one.
