I was a bit dissapointed by the amount of facts and details presented about the LED bulbs compared to CFL.

Here is a more comprehensive overview.

Does anyone have number comparisons of lifetime and energy savings numbers for a $3 CFL vs. a $20 LED bulb vs. $1 Incandescent?

this
Energy Calculator
might help?

I am curious if these LED's will be eligible for Wisconsin's "Focus On Energy" rebates that they will be starting in 2011. A recent trip to home depot lead me to see that with these rebates, the equivalent bulbs at home depot would be much cheaper, which would worry me in terms of sale prospects.

Re: LED Fundrasing info!

So, replacing my 11 watt CFL with a 7 watt LED for my outside light (on a post by the driveway) will save me about $4 a year. Why $4? Because in cold weather (<25F) I leave the CFL powered up 24/7 otherwise it won't start up via the light sensor. LEDs are OK in cold weather (right?).

Still, $4 a year is OK, payback is 5 years at $20. I will propose to the team to sell them at $16.76 each though.
