According to page 6 the Arena section, on each column of scoring pegs, there is a 30 inch space from center to center. However, I have been unable to find the height of the bottom peg.

FIRST looks like they've rearranged their site, and seems to have taken down anything game related - probably in an attempt to kill some of their traffic. So at the moment, we're going to have to make designs based on some approximate lowest height, which appears to be around half the 30 inches between pegs (on the left and right, remember that the middle pegs are 8 inches higher). Hopefully they'll make the field drawings available soon. Alternatively, did anyone get them yesterday?

Team 2502 has been able to snag up all information posted yesterday, and made it available on the link in my signature. I'd go by the approximations already made in the forum for now anyway, since I doubt anyone is ready to start sawing away.

Just wondering, I can't read any of the game manual pdf besides the first page on my mac os x and this is after entering the password correctly

So everyone knows there are 2 groups of 3 columns on each side. After looking over the game drawings and game manual, this is what it should be in each group of 3:

For the two on the left and right:
Bottom peg: 29.21 inches (from bottom of floor to bottom of peg)
Middle peg: 59.21 inches (from floor to peg bottom), aka 30 inches above bottom peg
Top peg: 89.21 inches (from floor to peg), aka 30 inches above middle, aka 60 inches from bottom

For the middle:
Bottom peg: 37.21 inches (floor to peg)
Middle: 67.21 inches (floor to peg), aka 30 inches from bottom
Top: 97.21 inches (floor to peg), aka 30 inches from middle, aka 60 inches from bottom

When I read the first page of the "2011 Team Field Elements" pdf, I understood that there are 35.25" vertically between each peg. I believe the 30" is horizontally between each pillar.

This whole situation is really odd. If you look in section 2 of the game manual, there's information and measurements on just about everything except the height of the pegs. Even things that really don't matter that much like the height of the guardrails. This leads me to believe that the exclusion of the peg heights was an oversight. Furthermore a few people have looked at the drawings and got different measurements. I think we should wait until tomorrow (Monday) when Q&A opens up and expect a revision to the manual shortly.

Are you using Preview, Adobe Reader or something else, they have worked fine in Preview on my macbook as well as in google chromes built in pdf viewer.

In the Team Drawings, the heights are clearer.

I would assume these heights are the same as the ones on the actual field. They are rounded to the nearest inch.

Middle Post

• Low Peg: 38"
• Middle Peg: 75"
• Top Peg: 111"

Side Posts

• Low Peg: 30"
• Middle Peg: 67"
• Top Peg: 103"

I calculated these heights by adding the lengths of the vertical sections and half the outside diameter of 1-1/4" Schedule 40 PVC to get the center point of the pipe. There is inaccuracy in that I am not sure how far the pipes go into the T-Fittings.

Nick, did you account for the 1/8" base plate the pole sits on top of, an the 1/8" space between the poles when they join?

I did a quick and sloppy addition (and it could be wrong) and I got approximately 103.4 and 111.3 inches to the bottom of the two different top pegs. I could be wrong though.

There isn't a 1/8" base plate in the Team Drawings. I did not account for an 1/8" space between the poles where they join. However, it looks as we got almost identical numbers.

The Estimates on the previous pages seem to be correct. These are close to what you get by doing the math with the drawings for the official field, and for the practice field.

These dimensions are:
Left & Right column: top peg is 8' 8"
First peg = 30.125"
Second peg = 66.875"
Third peg = 103.625
Middle column: top peg at 9' 3"
First peg = 38.125" above ground
Second peg = 74.725" above ground
Third peg = 111.375" above ground

The wikipedia page is actually inaccurate, and seems to be based on a misinterpretation of the rules. I have changed the page to reflect the Field documents.
