Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
I thought that the programming things were included on the classmate re-images on the developer account. I haven't re-imaged yet, so I can't say for sure but I'm sure they are included.

Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
We're having similar problems here at 1727.
Also, I'm worried that because the re-image is Windows 7 there will be less functionality in LabVIEW, as it is not fully supported in Windows 7. I would just use Virtual Box or something, but I'm pretty sure that the Classmate can't handle that sort of load. We're also having problems verifiying Window's authenticity. It keeps telling us that the registration date is past as well. So.... I think we're stuck. |

and also the classmate has 3 partitions 1 main 9.79GB partition with windows 1 100MB system partition 1 5.37GB recovery partition thats 100% Free theres no space for labview unless we reformant or convert that recovery partition.. im trying to do it without formanting it sofar nothing. i guess we will have to formant it :kanye shrug: |
Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
So, I logged in as Driver and the LabVIEW display came up! So, LabVIEW must be on there somewhere!
I'm going to re-image, as I believe we made a mistake with the user accounts. Somehow we ended up with 3. |
Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
All the reimage really does is update Windows. The rest are in the CDs.
But, this is really stupid 1. FRC gives us CDs to install the programs... NETBOOKS DON'T HAVE CD DRIVES (if anyone is looking for a free solution for this, use ImgBurn to create an ISO on another computer and then use Daemon Tools Lite on the Netbook to install it) 2. Windows 7 Professional takes up more than Windows 7 Starter, leaving us with what, 1 gb of space? AN IDE WITH ALL THE NECESSARY PLUGINS TAKE UP A MAJORITY OF THIS AMOUNT, LEAVING NO SPACE FOR EXTRAS Ok, sorry, I'm done. I'm just really frustrated. I'm trying to port our labview code to java (this is how I'm learning to program the bot), so I need both IDEs, and our school doesn't let us install any of our software on their computer, so we are stuck with this netbook and are stuck in this predicament. Plus there's no need to reimage. Just delete the third account from Developer (we had the same thing happen to us. Windows makes you do this for some reason, I guess its because it doesn't realize that the image comes with preloaded accounts). |

Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
well i found out the R drive is where it caches the install image when its reimaging which is the partition i removed.. lets try without the hiding file. i guess il have to keep it separated.. if any body know about diskpart; post up.. im going to try to let it use that partition and then when it goes to hide it, reformant and extend the windows partition..

I edited the DISKPARTSCRIPT.TXT file on the 2010 image key and changed the 5500 size of the recovery partition to 100. Next, I edited the AUTOINSTALL.CMD file on the key... I deleted the following line: Quote:

Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
Maybe i can shine some light on this.
The small laptop doesn't come with the labview. i know it sucks  , BUT  they come with the CD and you can put it on another computer (I.E. laptop or desktop) We are selfs have members of the programming team bring them in their own. we currently have 4 with labview and working fine. the mini laptop we are only using as the driver station and only for the driver station. beside who wants to program on such a small screen. :D (any questions on how to set up your personal laptop to program and download the code to the robot just ask :) ) |
Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
First updated the main-site to include instructions on how to image your classmate without the 5Gb recovery partition on kop page.
|
Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
To answer the questions and end this. What you need to do is go to this link (http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr....aspx?id=18530) then scroll down to control system.
Instructions 1.Plug the reimage disk (USB) into a computer (not classmate) and backup the files somewhere 2. Open up the USB folder and rename "AUTOINSTALL.CMD" to "AUTOINSTALL.CMD.BAK" and "DISKPARTSCRIPT.TXT" to "DISKPARTSCRIPT.TXT.BAK" 3. Then download the "Updated Classmate Installation Files" from that link and copy those files to the reimage disk (USB). 4. Run the reimage disk on the classmate (plug it in then hit F11) 5. Delete the user account that you created in the wizard (you only want Driver and Developer accounts) 6. Run the "Classmate Update" file on the classmate then restart the classmate. (this activates windows) 7. Download the trial version of PowerISO and make an .iso image of the LabView CD. 8. Run this .iso on the classmate Now you have an activated Version of Windows 7 with LabView on your classmate and everything is all good. |
Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
Does labview need to be on the Netbook? and is there another way to activate the Windows 7 other than using the ISO for labview etc.?
|
Re: Is Labview Supposed to Be on The reimage?
Only the Driver Station update and just the FRC 2011 Tools & cRIO Drivers from the LabVIEW DVD need to be on the Classmate if you don't use the KOP stick.
What ISO for LabVIEW? LabVIEW only comes on a DVD. |

No problem.
I just wanted to be sure we were talking about the same things. |

Although my team scratched the classmate, we has a similar problem with the netbook we are using to replace the classmate. However, one of our mentors who is good with networking helped us out in a creative way. We got two ethernet cables, a router, and another laptop which had a CD drive (doesn't have to be a laptop). We wired both laptops to the router via the ethernet cables, and then reset the ethernet settings so they could communicate to the router. By connecting both laptops on the same network, we were able to "share" the DVD between both laptops via the ethernet connection. Whatever method you choose, you will need all the contents of the LabVIEW DVD copied to the hard drive of the netbook/classmate in order to properly install it. |
