Re: New Router?

Resetting the router/bridge can be easily done with the use of a pencil and hitting the small button behind the router/bridge. Hold the pencil on the button until the lights start flashing in the front of your router/bridge.

For your emergency web server error: I had no error. I just had some trouble connecting to the bridge itself. The main problem was that my computer's ip address and subnet mask were not correctly set.

So look at your subnet mask and also if there are computers near by: shut them down, because sometimes they can actually accidently connect to the bridge not allowing you to connect.

:)

p.s. the black bridge that we recieved last year burned...I didn't like it's configuration anyway.

The DAP-1522 goes on the robot, and the classmate connects directly to it wireless.

Let me get this straight: veteran teams, even when testing wirelessly, do not need a router?
How does this reconcile with the bridge's default gateway of 10.XX.YY.4, which was (last year, anyway) the router's IP?

No one, neither veterans, nor rookies, needs more than the DLink.
The DLink in AP mode IS a router. It happens to also ride on the robot.
How simple is that?

In past years during the off-season, many teams replaced their robot radio with the router that came in previous year's Kits. A router that rides on the robot and can communicate on the Classmate's 2.4GHz band (or whatever your driver station laptop wireless band is) is all you need.

The gateway address isn't used until we get to the playing field where the Field Router is at that address (and the DLink's are switched over to act as bridges, not routers).

Riding on the robot is the part we missed completely. Going back to the drawing board for adjustments....

Hmm. Thanks for the clarification, Mark. That should be very convenient. My team is on the verge of getting that setup working.
