Combining Motors
Im wondering if anybody knows how to put a CIM and a fisherprice motor in the same gear box. Im assuming that some alterations must be made to accommodate the different rpms.
Thanks! |
Re: Combining Motors
Run the FP through an AndyMark planetary and you should have no problems.
http://www.andymark.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=182 I'm just not certain which one to use... I'm not quite certain what happens with the new FP motor, but that's a start. |
Re: Combining Motors
how exactly do these planetary gearboxes function? also, what new FP motors? were they changed?

I know I am horrible at explaining this, but just look at this picture: ![]() and this one: ![]() The second picture is a regular drill gearbox. I hope this helps! |
Re: Combining Motors
That being said, you probably won't be combining CIMs and FPs this year, since there is one FP and for 95% of teams they should have 4 CIMs in their drive.

You only get one in the KOP, but you can buy more. |

The rules say no such thing about FPs. Thus, only the single fisher price motor provided may be used. Sorry to deliver the bad news, I wish we had more also. on the other hand, the RS-775 has respectable specifications. |
