Just saying

We had some issues with the quiz module on Squidoo and couldn't update the actual quiz question, so we added a bit of text before the quiz to change the question to be more accurate. Not as elegant, but functional.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think all of the bugs that people were reporting have been worked out, becasue it was fine for me. The quiz was great and really helpful, thank you for making something that I could use to actually test what i know! I got a 100 on all 3 tests! :)

On the subject of The Robot (General) quiz, I'm looking for a photo of a robot - in any stage of completion - to use as the intro image. If you've got one you'd like to share, please let me know.

Re: Rules quiz

Thanks for the quiz. I noticed a couple of small mistakes:

Code:

The playing field is divided into several regions by 3-inch wide colored gaffers tape, including which of the following?
The gaffers tape is 2 inches.

Code:

Which of the following actions are you allowed to take on the ubertubes during the tele operations period?
What rule disallows removing them from your own peg? I believe the correct answer should be C.

Re: Rules quiz

Thanks for taking the quiz, and for the feedback.

On the gaffer's tape question, I believe you are thinking about the tracking lines, which are marked with gray 2 inch gaffer's tape. The question on the quiz refers to the tape marking off the zones and lanes.

We used rule <G16> to put together the question about UBERTUBES. The blue box that goes with rule <G16> specifically states:

Quote:

<G16> disallows an uplacec UBERTUBE to be hung, a knocked-off UBERTUBE to be rehung, or movement of an UBERTUBE to a different PEG.
Hope this helps you understand. Again, thanks for the feedback and for keeping us honest.

Re: Rules quiz

Your right. I misread the lines question.

I think that rule specifically allows removing an ubertube, actually. You just can't put it back on a peg. No idea why anyone would want to do that, but I think it is allowed.

Quite a few questions here at Chief Delphi over the past week have been related to "rules" not found in the Rules sections of the Game Manual, but in the Glossary. So we figured we should put together a quiz for some of the key terms in the Glossary to help people test their knowledge. It is linked from the main quiz page (link above), or you can get to it directly at http://bit.ly/GlossaryQuiz

We hope it helps. Let us know what you think.

We were going to wait and put The Tournament Quiz up after build season, but all these snow days seem like a call to start looking at the tournament and strategies. So we put it up tonight.

What is the first question? (Correct answer: 1)

Question 9: Not in the rules AT ALL (either Tournament or Game). Revision of question and/or answer requested. Hint: Any of the answers could work, except maybe D. "Up to Alliance" would also work.
Question 4: Incorrect answer. Red Cards in qualifications do NOT assign Yellow Cards to partners (Answer C). Red cards in Eliminations DQ the entire alliance (<T13>) (Answer D, marked as correct for a "not true" question.)

Repeatable results, too.

Re: Rules quiz

Thanks for the feedback, Eric.

The first question was an artefact from the draft that we failed to delete before publishing. It's gone now.

Question 9 (now 8) comes from <T16> in the Field Reset Rules section. A bit obscure, granted, but somewhat important to learn and know ahead of time. Something very easy to forget in the heat of competition.

Question 4 (now 3) was a slip of the finger on the track pad (and poor quality control on my part). The correct answer to the question is indeed C. It has been changed.
