Thanks Phil, I appreciate it! Also, what is the link to your new blog, and where can I find the specs to this year's excellence in design award (there wasn't much information in the game manual, as usual). :)

Did anyone seen the Gates Belt Sprockets?

On the Kit of Parts page, select 2011 for Year and enter Sprocket for Search.

The 3 sprockets will display and you can then download each of them.

Let me know if you have any problems with this.

The BLOG and Design Award information are coming. The Autodesk FIRST site was due for maintenance on the weekend and as always with these things it had a few hiccups along the way.

Stay tuned.

Hi Phil,

Thank you (Autodesk) for providing vault this year. I wanted to set this up in the off-seasion but could not get my hands on it off the student community website.

Now that I have the vault disk I can move forward but I do not see a product key for vault or inventor or autocad for that matter. Are we supposed to get a key off the student website? I have downloaded my copy of Inventor and the latest key for this year but I was expecting a product key with the packaging.

Any information you could provide would be much appreciated.

Matthew,

I am checking on the procedure. I think it is as you stated. That is, you get the authorization from the student community. In the meantime you should be able to install with a 30 day temporary setup.

I was wondering if the 2011 game pieces are available in Inventor and why I am unable to remove one of the CIM motors from the CIMple box? The CIMple box appears to be one part, and I am not able to edit it.

Thanks.

Phil,

we recently ran into the snag that our school decided not to uprgrade the inventor software this year so we only have 2010. We cannot open any of the kop in this and need 2011. Will the disks that came in the kop allow us to download inventor 11' onto multiple computers? Also, were on the website would we get the keys for the vault? Thanks for the help.

All,

Yes, Autodesk Vault is now available for FIRST users. If you check the FRC Training material for 2010 you will find a tutorial on how to use Vault.

The KOP should be available today, the new site is taking a bit longer than expected to get up and running.

Let me know how we can help.

Thanks,

Phil

What is the link for the training material for 2010? I'd like to install Vault for Team 181 but can't seem to find the information.

Re: Welcome to FIRST 2011 from Autodesk

Phil,

I am a mentor with team 1051, and need help with my Inventor install. I have installed it several times, uninstalling and deleting the files each time I get an error message. Every time it starts up inventor on the install fine, but the next time I try to start it up, all I get is an error report message. I have sent several error reports to Autodesk, but am getting nowhere resolving the issue. Can you help? I can't do any design work until it gets resolved.

Jack

Just for confirmation, I would like to know how many activations we can get/have. Thanks, Doug.

yes, inventor is not back-compatible, you can only open 2010 or earlier files in the 2010 version
