I would check ebay. Don't know if they have them but I have bought an off-brand computer a/c adapter off of there before. Can't say much for the quality of the one I bought (it got a short) but you may have better luck than me. The one I bought did last for a while. So it may work for your six weeks of build season and competition.

Define "cheap".

Following the links from http://www.ctlcorp/go/first I find they cost $42.90 from the source.

Our team is on a tight budget...so I'm looking for something that costs less than the source

Any charger with the following specs will work:

input 200-240Vac, 50-60Hz, 1.7A
output 20Vdc 2.0 A

Go visit your local electronics discount store and see what they have. $40 sounds about right, unless you can find something in a surplus discount bin.

I'm pretty sure mains power in Ohio is more like 120 VAC.

I can confirm that. And it's usually quite close to 60Hz as well. ;)

My apologies for my sloppy fingers and thanks to ayeckley and Alan Anderson for catching my mistake.

The specs written the original classmate charger are:
input 100-240Vac, 50-60Hz, 1.7A
output 20Vdc 2.0 A
