Imaging Help!

We started reimaging the cRIO and the Classmate today, and ran into problems with both. When trying to reimage the Classmate, we followed the instructions here:
http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles...tion_Rev_A.pdf
but got stuck after step 5 in Reimage the Classmate. Although we selected the USB device "Generic," it did not ask if we were sure we wanted to do this, and the Classmate simply proceeded to turn on as usual without loading CTL Autoinstaller. We are using a 2010 Classmate.

When we tried to image the cRIO, we used the instructions here:
http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles...cRIO_Rev_A.pdf, but when asked to select the most recent FRC_2011_xx.zip image file, the Select Image list included only FRC_2010_v20.zip. We have downloaded and installed the Utilities update, the Driver Station update, and the LabView update.

Thanks so much!

Maria

I got stuck on this too and simply selected the USB device above that one (I forget the precise name, and don't have a Classmate at hand - however there were only two USB devices) and it worked fine.

You can't damage your computer by temporarily changing the boot order, so no worries.

When I re-imaged the classmate, when I accessed the boot menu I believe I had to select the USB FILEDISK or the 2nd option under the 16GB SSD's option.

You should see the windows 7 installer load(Windows is loading files...") then the CTL Autoinstaller should open a command prompt and run.

Ok, I tried choosing the other USB option and it still just boots straight to the driver station without any installer appearing.
And, any ideas for the cRIO?

I'm also having issues imaging our classmate. The installer from the USB completes just fine, but at boot it'll crash when Windows is loading files. Has anyone else had this issue?

Edit: The classmate will crash when it gets to loading CLASSPNP.sys. For others having this issue, there's a very detailed post on the USFirst Forums, and hopefully it'll get fixed. If anyone has that file, would I be able to boot with a Linux Live USB and replace it myself?

Update: We rebooted our computer and the cRIO and the 2011 image appeared, so that was successful, but we still can't get the installer to show up on the Classmate.

I am having the same issue as Zach. I have tried to load the image 4 times and the classmate crashes when I try to boot it. The installer says it was successful but now I can't boot. Any ideas?

Heya. I'm also having problems finding the FRC_2011_xx.zip file. Rebooting doesn't work, nor does reimaging - in fact, when we reimaged LabVIEW disappeared entirely, we're going to try a network install later tonight. Any ideas?

Re: Imaging Help!

LabVIEW isn't part of the image, so it will disappear when you use the stick.

You then have to install
  1. The new LabVIEW
  2. The LabVIEW update
  3. The Utilities Update
  4. The Driver Station Update
P.S.
If you plan on installing LabVIEW or any of the other programming environments, be sure to read this before using the USB Image Stick.
The necessary fix to the stick is here.

Excellent, I'll try that now. Thanks!
