2011 FRC Minibots
Does anyone have any ideas, or tips for the 2011 FRC minibots???
My team has been trying to get ideas, because we don't have very many FTC parts to work with yet. Thanks |

Zoe,
First, cool avatar! Don't feel you need the FTC kit to start prototyping a minibot. The FTC parts are nothing special, you need a method of holding the minibot to the post and some form of drivetrain/propulsion system. |
Re: 2011 FRC Minibots
Consider what the rules give you. You're only allowed one way to move up the pole - electric energy converted through the motors. So you're pretty much going to be driving up the pole.
Now how do you do that? Good places to start would be to look at teams that did that in 2010. 78, 2056, 383. |

Does any one know if the minibot can extend beyond the 18x18x18 inch dimensions? ::rtm::

Re: 2011 FRC Minibots
our team has figured out how we are gonna drive up the pole. But we need help figuring out how to "clamp" ourselves to the pole to get up. Any suggestions?

This thread is about FRC. This year there are minibots. I can understand the confusion that has given. Everyone else, please look at the information fully given before we tell people they are wrong. |
